Big Mouth Season 8 is bringing an end to the Big Mouth series. Maury the Hormone Monster (voiced by Nick Kroll) promises 'the end of a very gross era' as the Bridgeton teens face puberty in the eighth and final season of the series. The kids will be getting into a lot of trouble, as kids do, and in a messy final run face-off with the workings of their bodies.
The teens graduated from middle school back in 2023, in the seventh season, and the trailer, dropped by Netflix, teases how the kids are going to be dealing with their changing bodies.
Big Mouth Season 8 trailer: A Goodbye to the hormone monsters
Big Mouth and its spinoff, Human Resources, have had a record-breaking run, but it is sadly coming to an end. However, before it ends, we get to witness the teens facing puberty, change, and a lot of growing up. In a final goodbye to Andrew, Nick, Jay, Jessi, Missy, and their loyal monsters, the eighth and final season premieres on May 23, 2025.
In this disgusting yet somehow sweet trailer, the kids face puberty without any actual knowledge of what it is, as said by a sassy new teacher, Natasha Lyonne.
"Do you schmucks even know why you go through puberty?"
The trailer then cuts to a series of embarrassing yet entertaining montages of kids facing the changes in their bodies, from PMS to pubic hair.
Jessi: "That's why I've been so moody? PMS?"
We see Nick celebrating in the trailer until the hormone monster comes up to him and brings him face-to-face with a part of growing up, aka pubic hair, by throwing it on his face. (disgusting yet somehow sweet?)
Nick: “It finally happened! I grew!”
Hormone Monster Rick: “Surprise! Merry puberty, Nick!” (throws hair on his face)
The entire original cast of Big Mouth is returning for the final season, which will span 10 episodes and see the teens entering high school for the very first time. Nick Kroll, Jessi Klein, John Mulaney, Ayo Edibiri, Jason Mantzoukas, Fred Armisen, Maya Rudolph, Jordan Peele, and Andrew Rannels will all be returning as the main cast.
Additionally, several guest stars will also be appearing in the final season as voice actors, including Holly Hunter, Cynthia Erivo, Kristen Wiig, Steve Buscemi, Nathan Fillion, Quinta Brunson, Richard Kind, Ali Wong, Keke Palmer, Maria Bamford, Thandiwe Newton, David Thewlis, Aidy Bryant, Natasha Lyonne, Lena Waithe, Rosie Perez, Stephanie Beatriz, Billy Porter, Chelsea Peretti, Whitmer Thomas, June Diane Raphael, Chloe Fineman, Jack McBrayer, Zach Woods, and Craig Robinson.
Creator and executive producer Kroll talks about the devastating fact that the show is coming to an end, but of course, everyone has to grow up sooner or later:
"If you would have told adolescent Nick Kroll and Andrew Goldberg that middle school would take eight years to finish, they would have been like, ‘Yeah, that sounds about right. This seems like it will never end,’ "
