President Trump shared a Tweet revealing the tragic news of Charlie's demise via the social media platform X, stating:
"The Great, and even Legendary, Charlie Kirk, is dead. No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie. He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us. Melania and my Sympathies go out to his beautiful wife Erika, and family, Charlie, we love you!"

Charlie Kirk was at Utah Valley University, addressing the students there under a tent. While talking to the students there, a single shot, hitting Charlie, shocked everyone. As he ended up wounded, everyone around him screamed in panic and scattered. He was seated under the tent, conversing with the crowd around him.
Before President Trump announced the unfortunate news of Charlie's demise, The White House's official X (formerly Twitter) shared an update regarding the shooting:
"We must all pray for Charlie Kirik, who has been shot. A great guy from top to bottom. GOD BLESS HIM!" - President Donald J. Trump," read the Tweet.

Later, at 2:20 am, Donald Trump shared another Tweet stating conservative activist Charlie Kirk's demise.
Charlie Kirk Shooting: FBI Director shares an update after the incident
FBI Director Kash Patel, via his official X, shared an update regarding the tragic shooting. "We are closely monitoring reports," he wrote along with:
"Our thoughts are with Charlie, his loved ones, and everyone affected."
The FBI Director also noted that the department stands in full support of the ongoing response and investigation. He had been sharing updates via X, including taking a suspect in custody (around 3:51 am) and the release of the suspect after an interrogation.
However, the director stated that their investigation continues and they would be sharing the latest updates in the interest of transparency."
Additionally, the President also ordered to lower the flags to half mast until Sunday evening in honor of Charlie.
Notable personalities have expressed their condolences to Charlie's family after the tragic incident. The 43rd president of the country, George W. Bush, shared a statement noting how Charlie was "murdered in cold blood, while expressing his political views" to BBC News.
Bill Clinton also posted on X, stating his sadness and anger over "Charlie Kirk's murder."
