With just one season in, Marvel's Daredevil: Born Again is already looking forward to two more seasons starring Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock, aka Daredevil. With the second season all set to premiere in 2026, we also have a sneak peek into what we can expect for the third season, production for which will start in 2026.
Sana Amanat, who produces the show, spoke to Empire Magazine about what the team is aiming for for the show's third iteration, as she told the outlet,
“We are trying to make it more stripped-down back-to-basics Daredevil. The ideas we have are places we haven’t gone before and that’s really thrilling.”
Not just that, she also talked about Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 and how an open landscape for the premise helped them have a more liberating take on the sophomore season. Talking about how the show will focus on Vincent D'Onofrio's Wilson Fisk, aka Kingpin, the evil mayor, Amanat said,
“The landscape was open, and that was so liberating. We were like, “We can do whatever we want.’ What does it mean for Fisk when he’s gotten everything he wants? When you give a person whose thirst cannot be quenched his most valued treasure, is it enough? Or does he squeeze his treasure too hard?”
More details about Daredevil: Born Again
Daredevil: Born Again showed up on Disney+ as Marvel Studios’ thirteenth television entry in the MCU, built through the Marvel Television label and shaped by Dario Scardapane along with Matt Corman and Chris Ord. Even though it continues the story from the Netflix series that ran from 2015 to 2018, this version has its own pulse. It treats the earlier show as part of its history but returns with fresh leadership and a clear sense of identity. Scardapane takes over as showrunner while Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead guide the season as the lead directors.
Charlie Cox steps back into Matt Murdock’s shoes with the confidence of someone who never left. He anchors a cast that includes Vincent D’Onofrio, Margarita Levieva, Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson, Wilson Bethel, Zabryna Guevara, Nikki M. James, Genneya Walton, Arty Froushan, Clark Johnson, Michael Gandolfini, Ayelet Zurer, Jon Bernthal, and Tony Dalton. Kamar de los Reyes and Mohan Kapur come in for the first season, and Krysten Ritter joins the second.
The story picks up years after the Netflix series and about a year after Matt Murdock stepped away from vigilantism. Season one follows him trying to balance his legal work with the rising threat of Wilson Fisk, who becomes the mayor of New York City. Season two escalates everything as Fisk tightens his control, declares martial law, targets every masked hero he can find, and forces Matt to gather allies to push back against the Anti-Vigilante Task Force.
The first season of Daredevil: Born Again is available to stream on Disney+. The second season will be available to watch from March 4, 2026.
