The teaser for Dexter: Original Sin has just been released by Paramount. The highly anticipated series will premiere on December 13, 2024, for streaming, and will air on December 15, 2024. The prequel series will be available for streaming on Paramount+ with the Showtime plan.
Dexter: Original Sin will feature the return of the original Dexter, Michael C. Hall, as the inner voice of the young serial killer. In the teaser, Hall can be heard narrating:
“I’m a killer, but I wasn’t born this way. I was made.”
The ten-episode series centers on the origin story of the serial killer, Dexter. Set in Miami in 1991, viewers will see how the young boy transitions from being a normal student by day to an avenging serial killer by night. Struggling to ignore his urges to kill, Dexter learns to redirect the darkness within.
His mother’s murder fills the young boy with anguish and a thirst for revenge. With the help of his father, Harry, Dexter finds an outlet for his urges by developing a code called The Code of Harry. This code helps him identify individuals who deserve to be removed from society.
Dexter attempts to evade law enforcement, a task that becomes more complicated as he begins his forensic internship at the Miami Metro Police Department. The plot is set 15 years prior to the events of the original Dexter series.
