Elsbeth Season 3 is bringing back another character from The Good Wife/The Good Flight universe, Sarah Steele's Marissa Gold. Steele made her The Good Wife debut in Season 2, as Eli Gold's only daughter and Alicia's body woman when the latter ran for office.
Season 3 of Elsbeth is scheduled to premiere on CBS on October 12. Episodes will also be available on Paramount+.
Marissa Gold is the second character to be featured from the parent series. Earlier, Christian Borle's Carter Schmidt guest-starred in Elsbeth Season 2. In addition to Elsbeth (Carrie Preston), Carter and Marissa Gold are the only two characters who have appeared in all three shows from The Good Wife Universe.
Elsbeth Season 3 will continue to follow Elsbeth's adventures as she works with the NYPD on many high-profile cases. After Judge Crawford's murder in Season 2, our lead attorney will uncover corruption in the force and the legal system.
More on this in our story.
Elsbeth Season 3 will be star-studded
Following Steele's debut (as Marissa Gold) in The Good Wife Season 2, she helped Alicia and Peter with many political and legal controversies. Eventually, Sarah Steele debuted as a series regular in The Good Fight, where Marissa Gold became the private investigator for the firm.
In addition to The Good Wife franchise, Steele has also appeared in many shows, including Law & Order, Blue Bloods, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Girls, and Nurse Jackie.
Actress Carra Patterson, who appeared as Kaya Blanke in the first two seasons of the spin-off show, will only guest star in Elsbeth Season 3. After Blanke was promoted to lead a task force in the Season 2 finale, she moved to Washington, DC. Blanke also had a farewell party in Season 2, and Patterson will only appear as a guest star in the upcoming season.
Additionally, many stars are set to appear as guest characters in Elsbeth Season 3. These include Stephen Colbert as Scotty Bristol, a late-night host, Amy Sedaris as Laurel Hammond-Muntz, and Andy Richter as Mickey Muntz, Scotty's sidekick.
Lindsay Mendez will also appear as Officer Grace Hackett, an aspiring stand-up comedy artist. After Hackkett teams up with Elsbeth, her passion for comedy will help the women solve the case.
Lastly, Elsbeth Season 3 will also feature Annaleigh Ashford as Sharon Norman, a murderous housewife. William Jackson Harper and Lois Smith will also be seen in the upcoming season.
The lineup of guest stars for Season 3 suggests that the spin-off show is trying to recreate the magic of its Season 2 finale, which was also a star-studded affair. While our vibrant attorney will continue to work hard and catch criminals in the upcoming season, each guest star will bring their own magic to the show.
Catch the Season 3 premiere on CBS on October 12.
