The fifth season of Emily In Paris will be a treat for fans of Emily and Alfie's relationship as Lucien Laviscount, who plays Alfie opens up about his character arc on the new season and if he will get back to Emily. Lilly Collins, who plays the titular Emily, is returning for the fifth season, and as the show moves to other cities than Paris this time, Emily's love life also seems to be in quite a few directions.
Speaking to People Magazine, Laviscount spoke about what the new season holds for his character as he said,
“I think this season we see a little bit of a different side of Alfie — I think more of an adventurous [side], I’ll put it that way. Alfie's out there. You know, I just want to tell you! I’m holding back. It’s crazy.”
He then talked about Alfie's relationship with Emily and if hey would be getting back together as he added,
“I think anything's possible, of course. It's like in real relationships in real life. You kind of look back, and you can either romanticize past relationships or you can just call them the devil and be done with it. But I think there’s always a kind of scope in the Emily in Paris universe for anything to happen. I wouldn't write them off.”
More details about Emily In Paris Season 5
As Netflix gears up for a packed December, Emily Cooper is basically turning Europe into her personal commute route. Season 5 of Emily in Paris releases on December 18, and this chapter stretches across Paris, Rome, and even Venice. The newly released teaser shows Lily Collins’ Emily gliding from Roman streets to Venetian canals, while creator Darren Star describes the season as a story split between two cities. He says Emily pushes her personal and professional life forward in big ways, and the early images back him up. You see her sailing through Venice, exploring Roman landmarks, and juggling responsibilities at both the Paris and Rome offices of Agence Grateau.
Season 4 of Emily in Paris laid all the groundwork for the Italian shift. Emily explored a strong romantic spark with Marcello, heir to a luxury wool company. Gabriel realized too late that he still wanted to be with her. Mindy returned to Shanghai to serve as a judge in the singing competition that once transformed her life. Sylvie dealt with fallout after bringing old allegations against Nicolas’ father into the spotlight.
The finale ended with Marcello picking Emily up on a Vespa to the sound of Gracie Abrams’ Close to You, while Gabriel realising he still has feelings for Emily. Season 4 also performed extremely well for Netflix, hitting number one on the Netflix Global Top 10 with 19.9 million views in four days, charting in 93 countries, and remaining on the list for four consecutive weeks.
All of this means Emily Cooper is about to split her life between two countries while managing romance, career chaos, and an entire European lifestyle shift. Emily in Paris Season 5 promises the biggest adventure the series has attempted so far.
Emily in Paris Season 5 will be streaming on Netflix from December 18.
