Emmys 2025: The Studio now holds the record for most wins by a comedy

Seth Rogen's freshman comedy series The Studio won big at the Emmys 2025, taking home 12 awards, including acting and directing wins for Rogen. The series broke the all-time record for most wins for a comedy series in a season (and in its first season).

The ceremony, which was hosted by comedian Nate Bargatze, was a huge win for Apple TV+. While Severance became the most-nominated TV series, with 27 nods, Rogen's The Studio bagged 23 nominations, tying with the record set by FX's comedy series The Bear in 2024.

Seth Rogen started the winning streak for The Studio at Emmys 2025 and took home the shining trophy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series. As the night got more entertaining, Apple TV+'s freshman comedy series continued this winning streak and took home 12 trophies.

Emmys 2025: All about The Studio's record-breaking success

In 2024, The Bear was the talk of the town, as it became the most awarded comedy series (in a season) with 11 Emmy Awards. However, The Studio has smashed The Bear's record and won 12 awards at the Emmys 2025. Apple TV+'s 2025 comedy series achieved this record-breaking success in the first year of its release.

In addition to his acting win, Seth Rogen also won the Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series for the episode “The Oner”, which he shared with Evan Goldberg. To round up its 12 award wins, The Studio also won the Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series for the Pilot episode, which was penned by Rogen, Goldberg, Frida Perez, Peter Huyck, and Alex Gregory.

In addition to breaking The Bear record, The Studio also surpassed the record of another beloved Apple TV comedy series, Ted Lasso, which bagged 20 Emmy nominations. While The Studio ruled the comedy category at the Emmys 2025, Netflix's Adolescence won big in the limited series category, including an acting win for 15-year-old Owen Cooper.

The Studio follows Matt Remick, a cinephile and the newly appointed head of a struggling film production company. The comedy series follows his struggles as he tries to balance between his production company's corporate aims and his own ambitions and cinematic passion. The series is already renewed for Season 2.
