First look of Avatar: Seven Havens, the sequel series of Avatar revealed

Nickelodeon just dropped a first look at Avatar: Seven Havens, revealing a fresh take on the Avatar saga via a San Diego Comic‑Con panel reveal. The image introduces the new earthbending Avatar alongside her mentor in airbender colors and her animal companion. She and her long‑lost twin must uncover their origins while saving the Seven Havens, civilization's final refuges, as both human and spirit enemies close in.

Set generations after Korra, Seven Havens explores a world shaken by a mysterious cataclysm that has left the Avatar’s role in doubt. Here, the Avatar is seen as a universal threat despite having good intentions. Knowing this, the series will most likely address and explore some deep and complex issues as well.

"Avatar: Seven Havens is set in a world shattered by a devastating cataclysm. A young earthbender discovers she's the new Avatar after Korra — but in this dangerous era, that title marks her as humanity's destroyer, not its savior. Hunted by both human and spirit enemies, she and her long-lost twin must uncover their mysterious origins and save the Seven Havens before civilization’s last strongholds collapse."

Spanning two books and 26 half-hour episodes, the series is executive produced by original creators Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko. In a joint statement, Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko said,

The series hints at seven enigmatic locations, either real or symbolic, that may be the last strongholds of human and spiritual life. These Havens could become battlegrounds or sanctuaries as the world teeters on collapse. Fans speculate they might link to ancient spiritual sites, remnants of the Air Nomads, or former Avatars’ past lives.

Avatar Studios promises rich lore and multiple layers for longtime viewers to explore. And Seven Havens is just one part of a larger vision. A theatrical animated film focusing on an adult Aang and Team Avatar is also set to release on January 30, 2026, bridging the narrative gap between The Last Airbender and Korra.

With both projects underway, Avatar Studios seems to be crafting a fully connected universe. No release date, cast, or trailer has been revealed yet, but the animation will feature enhanced 2D. Rumors suggest we may see familiar faces, or their legacies, return.
