Industry has emerged as one of the boldest thrillers in recent years and as the show moves on to it's fourth run, things are getting messier, riskier, and even more unhinged. Co creators Mickey Down and Konrad Kay had a chat with Variety, where both the directors opened up about the show's new season, and how they are taking a few risks this time.

Speaking to the outlet, Down stated,

“I honestly think there’s no point in doing anything if you’re not going to take a risk. I’m sure some people will be like, ‘What the fuck are they doing? It’s supposed to be set in a bank!’ But this show is whatever the fuck we want it to be.”

Describing the new season as a “neo-Gothic period drama in a big house,” both the directors also talked about what plans they have for the show's future, as they added,

“We don’t know what the f**k is going to happen. We’re constantly making it up as we go along. We never had a big thesis statement about the world or capitalism; we just write what we think is interesting at the time. And that sometimes manifests in weird f**king things.”

Things are about to get even more messy on Industry as the wildly confident third season pushes the show beyond Pierpoint's trading floor, bringing it's fourth year to fans. With less than a week until release, it is one of the most awaited shows of the year.

The new season picks up after Pierpoint’s dramatic collapse and rebrand into Al-Mi’raj Pierpoint, a move that left most of the core players jobless, displaced, or newly powerful. According to HBO’s official logline, the story now expands into a globetrotting power game sparked by a flashy fintech company called Tender. Money is bigger, the stakes are higher, and friendships are starting to crack.

Season 4 also introduces a stacked lineup of new faces. Max Minghella plays Whitney Halberstram, the ambitious founder of Tender. Other newcomers include Kiernan Shipka, Kal Penn, Charlie Heaton, and Claire Forlani, hinting at a much wider world.

The trailer already raises the stakes, as it promises corporate espionage, broken friendships, ugly ambition, and nights that end in regret. With how the creators are teasing the show, this might just be the riskiest Industry season in the show's history.

Industry is available to stream on HBO Max.
