Here's everything you need to know about Outer Banks final season as the series wraps filming

The golden hour is finally fading for the Pogues as the final season of Outer Banks has finally wrapped filming, bringing a close to the show's five year run. Netflix has officially confirmed that the show has wrapped production on its fifth and final season, sharing details from the finale and photos from the set.

In a statement, Creators Josh Pate, Jonas Pate, and Shannon Burke told Tudum.

“We are over the moon to be setting out on one last trip with the Pogues. Being back on set with our cast for this final round is nothing short of bittersweet and surreal. We can't wait to show everyone what we have in store this season — it's going to be a wild ride…”

Further talking about how the season ends with Pogues coming home and a feature length episode, their statement read,

"The fourth season was our longest and hardest but most rewarding to produce. The season ends with a feature length episode, which we think is our best, most powerful episode...Now, with a little sadness, but also excitement, we're putting Season Four behind us, and are turning to Season Five, in which we hope to bring our beloved Pogues home in the way we imagined and planned years ago. Season Five will be our last season, and we think it will be our best yet. We hope you'll join us for one more paddle out to the surf break."

Since it's debut in 2020, Outer Banks has grown from a sun-soaked teen mystery into a global streaming powerhouse, getting 200 million views and joining Netflix's Top ten lists. Following the high-octane conclusion of Season 4, it has been confirmed that the fifth season will be the last, bringing an end to the hunt for the Blue Crown.

The returning cast includes series regulars Chase Stokes, Madelyn Cline, Madison Bailey, Jonathan Daviss, Drew Starkey, Carlacia Grant, Austin North, Fiona Palomo, Tony Crane and Cullen Moss.

The stakes for Outer Banks Season 5 couldn't be higher, primarily due to the devastating Season 4 finale in Morocco. The shocking death of JJ Maybank, the group’s wildcard and beating heart, at the hands of his biological father has reframed the show’s final mission. The final season is being described as a story of redemption and revenge, as the remaining Pogues vow to honor JJ’s memory by finishing what they started.
