Adam Brown has officially joined the cast of House of the Dragon season three as Glendon Footly, the current Lord of Tumbleton. The Battle of Tumbleton is set to play a key role in the upcoming season. Fans had been anticipating Footly’s appearance, making this casting announcement a welcome confirmation.
Footly’s appearance signals upcoming encounters with characters confirmed for the season. Jon Roxton, played by Joplin Sibtain (Andor), will interact with the Lord of Tumbleton, and his wife is expected to be involved in the political conflicts surrounding the battle.
For Brown, this marks a return to fantasy glory. Many remember him as Ori from Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit trilogy, a gentle figure among warriors. Now, he returns to fantasy in a darker story, alongside former castmate Graham McTavish, who plays Ser Harrold Westerling.
That’s not all for the latest casting announcements for House of the Dragon. Joe Gaminara joins as Ser Lyonel Bentley, Richard Riddell as Ser Walys Mooton, and William Oxborrow as Ser Freddryk.
Everything we know about House of the Dragons Season 3
Season two of House of the Dragon closed with The Queen Who Ever Was, a finale that set up more than it delivered. Battles were teased, tensions rose, and yet fans were left hanging on a cliff’s edge. If George R. R. Martin’s Fire & Blood is any guide, season three promises plenty of betrayals and bloodshed. It will also feature some of the saga’s most spectacular dragon battles.
First stop: the Gullet. Corlys Velaryon’s blockade has strangled King’s Landing long enough, and Aemond Targaryen’s alliance with the Triarchy promises a naval clash worthy of legend. Dragonriders will descend in battle: Jacaerys on Vermax, Addam on Seasmoke, Hugh Hammer on Vermithor, and Ulf the White on Silverwing. Key events include Jace’s death, Aegon’s flight on Stormcloud, and young Viserys being captured.
Season three of House of the Dragon won’t just live at sea. On land, Daemon rallies the Riverlords while Criston Cole and Aemond march with Green banners. Their collision sparks battles at the Honeywine, Red Fork, and Fishfeed, where blood will run deep. In the chaos, Aemond finally seizes Harrenhal, only to discover Daemon slipping past him toward King’s Landing. With Vhagar gone, the city falls in a single fiery day, and Alicent finds herself imprisoned after surrendering.
And then comes the duel fans have waited for: Daemon versus Aemond above the Gods Eye. Caraxes and Vhagar fight fiercely in the skies, leading to the deaths of both dragons and their riders.
Even as dragons die, unrest brews in King’s Landing. The smallfolk, led by the Shepherd, storm the Dragonpit in a frenzy that ends with fire, ash, and the deaths of four more dragons. Rhaenyra’s rule unravels. Rhaenyra leaves the city in grief and anger, returning to Dragonstone where the exiled Aegon awaits his opportunity.
