AMC’s Interview With the Vampire just made major waves at San Diego Comic-Con with a flood of Season 3 casting reveals, a teaser trailer, and a new title: The Vampire Lestat. The upcoming season will shift its focus to Lestat’s perspective, based on Anne Rice’s second Vampire Chronicles book, and it’s already bringing back several familiar faces.
Sam Reid returns as Lestat, alongside Jacob Anderson’s Louis, Assad Zaman’s Armand, Eric Bogosian’s Daniel Molloy, and Delainey Hayles’ Claudia, despite her death in Season 2. That’s not the only surprise. Five new actors are joining the cast: Jennifer Ehle as Lestat’s mother Gabriella, Christopher Heyerdahl as Marius, Damien Atkins as Magnus, Ella Ballentine as Baby Jenks, and Jeanine Serralles as Christine Claire.
AMC also released a teaser showing Lestat performing onstage in his new rockstar era, confirming that the season will follow his journey through fame, trauma, and immortality.
Fans were treated to three minutes of footage featuring band scenes, boardroom drama, and a heated exchange between Louis and Daniel about the now-published book. No exact release date was announced, but AMC confirmed that Season 3 will arrive sometime in 2026. Production is already underway.
Interview With the Vampire Season 3 Unveils Cast Shakeup, New Title, and Teaser at Comic-Con

Season 3 of Interview With the Vampire will be retitled The Vampire Lestat and centers on Lestat’s life after the events of Season 2, pulling directly from the second book in Anne Rice’s Vampire Chronicles. At the Comic-Con panel, Sam Reid confirmed that he began preparing for the rockstar version of Lestat even before receiving the new scripts.
He worked closely with composer Daniel Hart to understand the music that drives Lestat’s stage persona. The teaser shows him in full rock frontman mode, hinting that the season won’t just explore his music career but the identity crisis that comes with it.
Showrunner Rolin Jones emphasized that while Lestat takes the spotlight, Louis is still a major part of the story. Jacob Anderson teased that Louis is angry about the book’s publication, and fans shouldn’t worry about him disappearing from the show. AMC also released exclusive footage during the panel, including a confrontation between Louis and Lestat in a corporate setting, and a tense conversation between Louis and Daniel about the book’s impact.
Eric Bogosian’s Daniel Molloy will also appear in Talamasca, another series in AMC’s Anne Rice universe, premiering October 26. He confirmed that his character has a deeper history with the secret society. Several characters from previous seasons, like Armand (Assad Zaman) will also return, while newcomers Gabriella, Marius, Magnus, Baby Jenks, and Christine Claire are expected to reshape Lestat’s world.

Behind the scenes, executive producers Mark Johnson, Rolin Jones, and Anne Rice’s son, Christopher Rice, remain on board. Though AMC hasn’t shared a precise premiere date, production has started, and the season is confirmed for 2026. With new characters, crossover connections, and Lestat stepping into the spotlight, the show is expanding its universe while staying close to the core relationships that built its fanbase.
