Jessica Green, who stars as Charlie Cornwall in The Librarians: The Next Chapter, gave fans a sweet little peek behind the scenes for the show earlier this month, and it’s all getting real now.

The actress had opened up on the latest season, as she called the entire journey a “rollercoaster,” and honestly, it sounds like one. Shooting in Serbia’s blazing summer heat while juggling stunts, sword fights, and some surprisingly emotional moments? It’s been a wild ride.

Through all the chaos, Green had said this season dives deeper than ever before. With only three episodes to go at the time of writing, the show is shaping up to be a worthy successor of the highly acclaimed prequels.

Talking to Screen Rant earlier in July, the actress updated fans on the latest season and said,

"We are in the final two weeks. We wrap on the 16th, so we're about to start filming Episode 12 on Wednesday, which is going to be huge, and it's been a rollercoaster. We've had so much fun."

She added:

"I was just saying before, we had the hottest day of the year yesterday. Yesterday was a really hot day. It was 38 degrees, just scorching sun, and poor Callum's out in a three-piece suit with a leather trench coat and high leather knee boots. Oh, my gosh. That was a really tough day, but we're getting it done, and it's really exciting, and I'm excited for all the fans to see the season, because if you like the first, Season 2 blows it out of park."

The Librarians: The Next Chapter burst onto the scene on TNT with its premiere episode on May 25, 2025, followed by Episode 2 on May 26. Since then, the rest of Season 1 has aired an episode every Monday at 9 pm ET.

Developed and helmed by franchise veteran Dean Devlin, the series picks up the magical torch from the 2004 Librarian TV movies and the original four‑season The Librarians series that aired from 2014 to 2018.

At the heart of The Librarians: The Next Chapter is Vikram Chamberlain, played by Callum McGowan, a time‑travelling Librarian from 1847 whose return to his old castle, now a museum in Belgrade, accidentally unleashes magic across Europe.

To fix his mistake, he is joined by a newly assembled team: Connor Green, a historian podcaster (played by Bluey Robinson), science prodigy Lysa Pascal (Olivia Morris), and a tech‑savvy Guardian, Charlie Cornwall (Jessica Green). Returning in a guest role is Christian Kane as Jacob Stone, bridging the rebooted storyline with the original series lore.

With Season 2 already ordered and production well underway as of summer 2025, The Librarians: The Next Chapter is a fresh magical universe expanding the franchise in bold new directions.
