Yellowstone, the Paramount+ show, ran from 2018 to 2025, and ended with the death of John Dutton III, Beth killing her brother Jamie, and the ranch getting sold to the Native American Broken Rock Reservation. Rip and Beth purchased land near Dillon, Montana, where the Yellowstone spin-off, presently named The Dutton Ranch, will take us.

As Variety reports, Jai Courtney has been cast for the spin-off. He will be joining Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser, who will be reprising their roles as Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler from the original show.

Jai Courtney joins Yellowstone Spin-off The Dutton Ranch

The Dutton Ranch, as it is named now, is not the only Yellowstone spin-off in the works. The Madisons and Y: Marshals are also spin-offs in development. While The Madisons will be focusing on a new family, and Y: Marshals will be following Kayce joining the US Marshals, The Dutton Ranch will follow Beth and Rip after the final events of Yellowstone.

As Variety reports, Jai Courtney has been cast in the spin-off The Dutton Ranch as Rob-Will, who is

“an imposing, unpredictable ranch foreman.”

Jai Courtney is an Australian actor who is known for his performance in various projects. Courtney's work in films includes him playing Charlie in Jack Reacher (2012), Eric Coulter in Divergent (2014) and The Divergent Series: Insurgent (2015), and George "Digger" Harkness / Captain Boomerang in Suicide Squad (2016) and The Suicide Squad (2021). He is also known for his television roles, like Spencer in Love, Death & Robots and Bob Goodwin in Kaleidoscope.

At the end of Yellowstone, Beth and Rip bought a smaller ranch near Dillon, Montana, and moved there. The spin-off will follow their life in the new place. As Variety reports, the logline of the upcoming spin-off states,

“Beth Dutton (Reilly) and Rip Wheeler (Hauser) are grateful for the peace they sought, fought, and nearly died for with their 7,000-acre Dutton Ranch. With tough times and stiff competition, Beth and Rip do what they must to survive, all while ensuring Carter (Little) becomes the man he’s supposed to be.”

Other than Reilly and Hauser, the cast of the upcoming spin-off includes Finn Little reprising his role as Carter and Annette Bening and Ed Harris in unspecified roles. The executive producers on The Dutton Ranch are Taylor Sheridan, Art Linson, David C. Glasser, John Linson, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Michael Friedman, Christina Voros, Reilly, Hauser and Keith Cox.

Chad Feehan will be the showrunner, and Christina Voros will be directing. Paramount Television Studios and 101 Studios are the production companies behind the show. A date of release is yet to be revealed. Stay tuned for more information.
