Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed: Jake Johnson is now a part of Apple TV's upcoming comedic thriller starring Tatiana Maslany

According to the latest reports, New Girl star Jake Johnson has now been onboarded for the cast of Apple TV's much-anticipated comedic thriller show Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed. Per Deadline, Jake Johnson will lead the cast alongside Primetime Emmy-winning actress Tatiana Maslany, whose casting was confirmed earlier this year when the series was first announced.

David J. Rosen is at the helm of the project alongside David Gordon Green, who is also executive producing. As confirmed by multiple sources, Johnson will play the part of the ex-husband (Karl) of Maslany's character Paula, a recently separated mother. Jake Johnson to star alongside Tatiana Maslany in Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed

Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed is a story of a divorced woman named Paula whose life is turned upside down owing to 'blackmail' and 'murder.' Here's a look at the logline of Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed, per Apple TV+, which says that the series revolves around:

"A newly divorced mom (Maslany) who falls down a dangerous rabbit hole of blackmail, murder, and youth soccer."

According to Variety, the Apple Studios thriller will have 10 episodes, and Counterpart Studios is also a part of the venture. On behalf of Genre Films, Simon Kinberg will executive produce Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed alongside Audrey Chon. Earlier, on February 27, 2025, Apple Studios made the thriller series official in a press release where Tatiana Maslany's casting was also confirmed.

Among executive producers, we also have Bard Dorros on behalf of Anonymous Content. Further details of the plot are still being kept under wraps, but the recent cast announcement has already garnered quite some social media attention.

Following recent hits like Severance, The Studio, and Murderbot, Apple TV+ continues its streak of original shows, and the star-studded creative team of Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed looks promising. Canadian Screen Awards winner Tatiana Gabriele Maslany is well-known for her contribution to projects, namely Orphan Black, Being Erica, Diary of the Dead, and recent horror hit The Monkey.

On the other hand, her newly announced co-star, Jake Johnson (aka Mark Jake Johnson Weinberger), is best recognized for his work on Fox's iconic sitcom New Girl. Johnson is quite known for having voiced the titular hero in Marvel's Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse - not to mention his performance in other hits like Safety Not Guaranteed, The Mummy, and Jurassic World (2015).
