Mindy Kaling's Hulu comedy series Not Suitable for Work has finally cast five actors as series regulars, who will serve as the show's main leads. The cast lineup for the comedy series includes Avantika, Ella Hunt, Jack Martin, Will Angus, and Nicholas Duvernay.
The official synopsis for Not Suitable for Work reads as follows:
''[The show] centers around five work-obsessed twenty-somethings striving for professional success and, if they have time, personal happiness in Manhattan’s most glamorous neighborhood, Murray Hill.''
Each of the five main actors will portray different working professionals from diverse backgrounds. Mindy Kaling's comedy series will explore their personal and professional lives in one of the most elite neighborhoods of Manhattan.
The series is additionally co-created and executive-produced by Charlie Grandy, a frequent collaborator with Mindy Kaling on projects including The Mindy Project & The Sex Lives of College Girls and 3 Arts Entertainment’s Howard Klein.

Cast lineup for Mindy Kaling's Not Suitable for Work revealed
Emmy-nominated actress, comedian, and writer Mindy Kaling is here with her brand-new comedy series on Hulu. The Office star is famously known for creating other popular comedies, including Never Have I Ever, Four Weddings and a Funeral, and The Sex Lives of College Girls.
Not Suitable for Work has cast former The Sex Lives of College Girls star Avantika in the role of Abhinaya “Abby” Chilukuri, a fashion-breathing and savvy assistant to a celebrity stylist. She is also known for Mean Girls and Mira, Royal Detective.
Actress Ella Hunt will play the character of AJ Pascarelli in Mindy Kaling's next. AJ is a sophisticated but intense first-year analyst working at one of the finest investment banks in New York. Hunt has previously appeared in Dickinson and Saturday Night.
Additionally, Jack Martin and Will Angus will play the respective characters of Josh Teitelbaum and Davis Beau Bradley Barrett III. While Josh is a smart and ideal New Yorker, Davis is a high-energy finance bro working in New York. Martin is famously known for his work in La Brea and Meet Cute, while Angus has previously appeared in Prom Dates and Hack to the Future.
Lastly, Nicholas Duvernay, who recently appeared in HBO's The White Lotus Season 3, will play the character of Kel Washington in the upcoming comedy series. Kel is an anxious medical student, waiting for his big acting break in New York. Duvernay has also appeared in Netflix's romantic movie Purple Hearts and Bel-Air.
Not Suitable for Work was picked by Hulu back in February 2025.
