Director Shawn Levy recently talked about the upcoming Stranger Things Season 5 with The Hollywood Reporter. The Netflix series will finally conclude with its fifth season, and as Levy discussed, the final day on the Season 5 set was emotional for the cast and crew alike:

''It was as emotional as you can imagine and maybe more emotional than you've heard.''

He added:

''It was happy, it was a relief because it was a long haul and Season 5 was a beast. It took a year just to film Season 5, there were strikes, there were shutdowns, but it was also goodbye...goodbye to the stories and goodbye to Hawkins.''

Netflix's Stranger Things, which debuted in 2016, will finally conclude the story of Eleven and her friends with an explosive Season 5. Levy recently attended the opening night of Stranger Things: The First Shadow on Broadway.

The First Shadow, a Stranger Things prequel play, finally made its Broadway debut, and Levy opened up about Season 5 on its opening night.

Stranger Things became a global phenomenon after its debut in 2016 and climbed Netflix's Top 10 charts in almost every country.

Talking about his experience of working on the show, Levy notes:

''At that last table read, we sort of knew that this was the end of a chapter. You're lucky if you get one Stranger Things experience in your life and that'll never happen again. We all know it and we cherish it.''

Stranger Things Season 5 was announced as the final chapter of the show, which will be released in 2025. The network has not yet revealed the release date of the concluding chapter.

Season 5 will also see the return of the main cast, which includes Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, David Harbour, Sadie Sink, Gaten Matarazzo, Noah Schnapp, and many more.

While the makers and cast have been tight-lipped about the plot of Stranger Things Season 5, Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos teased that the final chapter will be a thrilling ride (via Variety):

“The final season of Stranger Things is a thrill ride, but an emotional thrill ride. There won’t be a dry eye. I do know how it ends.''
