Netflix has dropped solo character posters for the main cast of Stranger Things' final season, and the latest additions to the collection are Dustin Henderson and Lucas Sinclair. The new portraits arrive as part of a final season rollout for Stranger Things, as fans get a glimpse of the returning characters who will be leading the fifth season.

Gaten Matarazzo's Dustin ad Caleb McLaughlin's Lucas are seen standing in front of a red neon lit up 5, with somber expressions, highlighting the season's high stakes.

Netflix rolled out the main season five poster and teaser in July, and these character drops are part of a steady drip intended to stoke conversation ahead of the big holiday release. The final season will arrive in three parts and the staggered schedule gives the marketing team lots of chances to keep fans hooked through the holidays.

The Duffer Brothers are bringing Hawkins to one final showdown. After nearly a decade of Demogorgons, heartbreak, and synth-fueled chaos, Stranger Things 5 will close the gates to the Upside Down once and for all. Set in the fall of 1987, the last chapter finds Eleven and her friends hunting Vecna after Hawkins was torn apart by rifts. But with the military now after Eleven, their mission takes a darker turn. As the anniversary of Will Byers’ disappearance nears, the group faces a final battle that will decide the fate of both worlds.

According to Netflix, the official synopsis of the season reads,

“Hawkins is scarred by the opening of the Rifts, and our heroes are united by a single goal: find and kill Vecna. But he has vanished — his whereabouts and plans unknown. Complicating their mission, the government has placed the town under military quarantine and intensified its hunt for Eleven, forcing her back into hiding. As the anniversary of Will’s disappearance approaches, so does a heavy, familiar dread. The final battle is looming — and with it, a darkness more powerful and more deadly than anything they’ve faced before. To end this nightmare, they’ll need everyone — the full party — standing together, one last time.”

Returning cast members include Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, and Sadie Sink, joined by newcomer Linda Hamilton and promoted cast member Amybeth McNulty.

Behind the camera, directors include Shawn Levy, Dan Trachtenberg, and Frank Darabont, who came out of retirement for this. Filming ran from January to December 2024, wrapping with a cryptic shot of a lunchbox. Post-production is already ahead of schedule, with editing on Volume 1 complete.

Stranger Things' final season’s eight episodes will drop in three volumes, four on November 26, three on December 25, and the finale on New Year’s Eve, each releasing at 5 p.m. PST.
