UK film and TV actor Micheal Ward is charged with two counts of rape and three counts of sexual assault. As per The Guardian, Netflix's Top Boy actor was charged with these offences that allegedly took place in January 2023.
According to confirmation from the Metropolitan Police, the 2020 Bafta-winning actor, Micheal Ward, who is known for his role as Jamie in Top Boy, was charged with the offenses after files were reviewed regarding assault against a woman. He is set to appear in court on August 28.

A statement from the deputy chief crown prosecutor for the Crown Prosecution Service, London South, on Friday revealed that:
"Having carefully reviewed a file of evidence, the Crown Prosecution Service has authorised the Metropolitan police to charge Micheal Ward, 27, with two counts of rape, two counts of assault by penetration, and one count of sexual assault against a woman in January 2023."
The statement went on to specify that these are in relation to one woman and reportedly took place in January 2023. The detective leading the investigation against these charges went on to request that the public handle the situation with decorum and follow all the rules. The statement also revealed that:
"Our specialist officers continue to support the woman who has come forward - we know investigations of this nature can have significant impact on those who make reports."
The Netflix actor is due to appear in front of the Thames Magistrates' Court on August 28 in London.
The 27-year-old British actor Micheal Ward made his screen debut with the TV series Brotherhood. However, it was his role as Jamie in Top Boy that pushed him into the throes of popularity. In 2020, he was awarded the Rising Star Award by the British Academy. He went on to star in projects such as Empire of Light, Eddington, Lovers Rock, Small Axe, and The Beautiful Game.
Ward was previously represented by the United Kingdom's agency, Olivia Bell Management. However, according to reports from Deadline, when the agency was contacted, they received confirmation that the agency no longer represented Ward.
