Nicole Kidman is not done with mystery dramas yet. After the success of Hulu’s Nine Perfect Strangers and Netflix’s The Perfect Couple, the legendary actress has landed the lead role in Prime Video’s upcoming series Girls and Their Horses.
Kidman will also executive produce the series, based on Eliza Jane Brazier’s 2023 novel of the same name. The show is set in the world of show jumping, where a murder brings chaos for a family that recently got rich.
Kidman has been quite active on television in recent years. Apart from the recently released Nine Perfect Strangers Season 2, the actress has been seen in shows like Expats, Special Ops: Lioness, and The Undoing.
Nicole Kidman to star in Prime Video’s Girls and Their Horses
Girls and Their Horses is being produced by Amazon MGM Studios, and Legendary Television. The series has already gone into development with the novel’s author, Eliza Jane Brazier, writing the pilot episode. Brazier will also serve as an executive producer on the project along with Nicole Kidman, Per Saari, and Jenna Lamia.
Additionally, Jenna Lamia is going to serve as the showrunner. She previously collaborated with Nicole Kidman on The Perfect Couple, another adaptation of a mystery novel, which became an instant hit on Netflix upon its release in September 2025. Lamia’s other writing works include the shows Good Girls, Resident Alien, 90210, and Awkward.
Other than Nicole Kidman, no other cast member's details have been revealed yet. Girls and Their Horses revolves around the Parker family, who want their teenage daughters to get involved and strive in the dangerous sport of horse riding. The official synopsis of the series reads:
“A murder-mystery set in the beachside equestrian community of Rancho Santa Fe, California, ‘Girls and Their Horses’ follows the newly wealthy Parker family as they aim to position their teenage daughters in the rarified, sometimes-deadly world of competitive horse riding.”
The show's release details have not been announced yet. Meanwhile, Nicole Kidman continues to amaze the audience with her stellar performances both on the big and the small screen. The Academy Award-winning actress’ recent film credits include Holland, A Family Affair, Babygirl, and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.
On television, Kidman has won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series or Movie for her role as Celeste Wright in HBO’s Big Little Lies. The actress is currently being seen in Nine Perfect Strangers Season 2, which premiered on Hulu in May this year.
