More details about Nobody Wants This
Nobody Wants This has charmed audiences since its Netflix debut on September 26, 2024, and with another season in, the show is looking ahead towards a third season now. Created by Erin Foster and inspired loosely by her own life, the series stars Kristen Bell as Joanne Williams, an outspoken, agnostic woman and s*x-and-dating podcaster, opposite Adam Brody as Noah Roklov, an unconventional American rabbi thrust into her world.
The show’s supporting cast brings even more depth, including Stephanie Faracy and Tovah Feldshuh as Joanne’s and Noah’s mothers, Paul Ben-Victor as their father, Emily Arlook as Noah’s almost-fiancée Rebecca, and Stephen Tobolowsky as Rabbi Cohen, the head rabbi and Noah’s boss at Temple Chai. Notable guest stars have included Michael Hitchcock, D’Arcy Carden, Ryan Hansen, Leslie Grossman, Leighton Meester, Miles Fowler, Seth Rogen, and Kate Berlant.
Foster previously spoke to Harper's Bazaar about creating the show from her own experiences, as she told the outlet,
“I would say that the best writing comes from personal experience because you can speak to a unique perspective that you have in the situation. I’m not always great at seeing things I’m going through in my life as stories to tell for TV. There’s so much content out there, so many films and TV shows where men write women the way that they think women should be."
After earning three Primetime Emmy nominations, including Outstanding Comedy Series and acting nods for Bell and Brody, Nobody Wants This was renewed for a second season in October 2024. Season two premiered on October 23, 2025, expanding on the evolving relationship between Joanne and Noah, their families, and the humorous, heartfelt complications of love and faith.
Both seasons of Nobody Wants This are streaming on Netflix.
