When Nobody Wants This premiered in September 2024, it received the audience’s love for its earnest portrayal of the early phases of an unconventional relationship. The positive response led Netflix to quickly renew the series for a second season.
The romantic comedy show revolves around Noah Roklov, a rabbi, and Joanne, an agnostic podcaster, who meet by chance and end up falling for each other unexpectedly. By the end of the first season, Noah and Joanne seemed to have found their happily ever after.
Series creator Erin Foster has now talked about what to expect from Nobody Wants This Season 2. In a conversation with IndieWire, Foster said the upcoming season will be as romantic and funny as the debut installment, and she will cater to what the audience wants to see about Noah and Joanne’s relationship:
“It’s gonna be romantic and funny. I’m not in the business of depriving people of what they want on a show like this, and making some like, artistic choice to rob you of what you want to see.”

Erin Foster added that while the previous season was all about the first things in Noah and Joanne’s romance, Nobody Wants This Season 2 will showcase the next four to six months of their relationship:
“I really tried to stay on point with Season 1, [it] was all these firsts, first kiss, first date, and this is going to be the next four to six months of the relationship, what that looks like.”
Apart from the lead couple, there is another potential romance in Nobody Wants This that has grabbed eyeballs. In the first season, sparks flew between Joanne’s sister, Morgan, and Noah’s brother, Sasha, who is already married. Talking about how their equation is going to pan out in Season 2, Foster said:
“They live in a little bit of a gray area, they exist in a gray area,” she said. “It’s like, ‘We don’t want this, but do we want it? Is there something there? No, there’s nothing there. There’s kind of something there, but it’s nothing.’ It’s kind of like that.”
Nobody Wants This Season 2 will mark the return of Adam Brody as Noah Roklov and Kristen Bell as Joanne. The rest of the cast members include Justine Lupe as Morgan, Timothy Simons as Sasha, and Jackie Tohn as Esther.
Arian Moayed and Alex Karpovsky have joined the show as Dr. Andy and Big Noah. Leighton Meester, Adam Brody’s real-life wife, will be making a guest appearance in Season 2 as Abby.
Nobody Wants This Season 2 is expected to premiere on Netflix in 2025, but the exact release date remains to be announced.
