"She’s here, and we still can’t believe it" - Kristen Doute welcomes first baby with husband Luke Broderick

The Valley star Kristen Doute and her partner Luke Broderick welcomed their first baby on June 11, 2025. The news was exclusively shared by Us Weekly.

The newborn girl has been named Kaia Lily. Doute told the media outlet:

“She’s here, and we still can’t believe it. Luke is even hotter as a dad, and I just feel so lucky. And even though I haven’t slept or showered in two days."

She went on:

"Seeing our daughter and finally being able to hold her makes it all worth it. We’re completely overwhelmed with love and so grateful for her, our lives are already changed completely.”

Explaining what the baby’s name meant, Kristen Doute shared that they had decided to choose a name related to water. She mentioned that lilies were her favorite flower and symbolized fresh starts and beauty. She also liked the name Lily because it reflected a soft, kind, and caring personality.

The news of Doute’s pregnancy came about in November 2024. In a statement to People magazine, she shared that after experiencing a pregnancy loss the previous year, she and Luke decided to try again at the beginning of 2024.

By late summer, they met with a fertility specialist to explore their options and think about what steps to take next. In December 2024, Kristen Doute told Us Weekly:

“I guessed wrong 100 percent of the time when it came to my friends’ pregnancies and not shockingly, I wasn’t right for mine either.”

Kristen Doute had Braxton Hicks before the delivery

In May 2025, Kristen Doute sat down with Lauren Herbert on the Reality Nightcap podcast, where she discussed her pregnancy among other aspects. When Herbert asked how she felt, Doute admitted she felt nervous because there was still a lot she didn’t know.

She said something unusual happened after filming a reunion episode. Doute had been sitting for a long time and noticed her feet were swelling. Her doctor advised her to go to the hospital just to be safe, since issues with the lower body during pregnancy shouldn't be ignored.

Although she felt fine, it was her first time visiting the maternity ward, which she found exciting. Everything turned out to be okay, and she learned she had been experiencing Braxton Hicks contractions without realizing it.

That made her think that if this was all there was to it, maybe her labor would be easier than expected. Herbert wanted to know about Kristen Doute and Luke Broderick’s wedding plans, but Doute said:

“Yeah, we have no idea. I think we have always kind of said that even before the engagement that it would probably be something really small because there's really no in between with the amount of friends and family that we have and like across as many states. It would be five six hundred people if we invited everybody.”

Kristen Doute shared that until recently, she and her partner had been thinking about having a destination wedding, possibly in Hawaii, where they got engaged, or on another island.

However, they started considering the idea of a country-style wedding, maybe in a place like Nashville or Georgia. In the end, they hadn’t made any final decision and were still unsure about the location.
