If you're eagerly waiting for Landman Season 2's second episode like everyone else, there's a surprising moment in store for fans who have waited for an affectionate moment between the father and son duo of Billy Bob Thornton's Tommy and Jacob Lofland's Cooper. A sneak peek from the second episode, revealed by Gold Derby shows an emotional monologue by Tommy as the father son duo express their love for each other.

The scene, transcribed by the outlet shows Tommy talking about his difficult childhood at the hands of Sam Eliott's T.L. Norris. Speaking to Cooper he says,

"I wasn't raised to father a son. All your grandfather did was work himself into being a cripple on the rigs, come home and get drunk enough to deal with my damn coked-out tornado of a mother, and come in my room and try to beat his failures all out on me. If you're gonna raise that girl's boy or one of your own, just know this: However you raise your son is how he's gonna raise his son, and that cycle is almost impossible to break."

Cooper then responds and says that Tommy broke the cycle, to which his father responds that he avoided it. Cooper then says,

"I Iove you, Dad. You did your best, and your best is good enough for me."

Landman sits at the crossroads of the modern Western and the tension-filled world of oil empires, born from the minds of Taylor Sheridan and Christian Wallace. The show takes inspiration from Boomtown, the podcast Wallace hosted, and builds a gritty drama around Billy Bob Thornton, who plays Tommy Norris, a landman navigating the chaotic power of an oil company.

Landman unfolds in the oilfields of West Texas, where fortunes rise and fall overnight. The world is shaped by roughnecks, billionaires, and the explosive boom of an industry that influences everything from global climate to geopolitics. Tommy Norris stands at the center of that storm. He can be abrasive, and so can the out-of-town lawyer who steps in to investigate a deadly incident early in the season.

Thornton anchors the core cast as Tommy, who began as a petroleum landman and operations vice president at M Tex Oil before later becoming president. Demi Moore plays Cami Miller. Ali Larter steps in as Angela Norris, Tommy’s ex-wife and the mother of Cooper and Ainsley. Jacob Lofland portrays Cooper, who works as a roustabout for his father, while Michelle Randolph plays Ainsley, the strong-willed daughter of Tommy and Angela. Paulina Chavez appears as Ariana Medina, the widowed wife of Elvio and Cooper’s love interest, and Kayla Wallace joins as Rebecca Falcone, a causation lawyer. The cast also includes Mark Collie as Sheriff Walt Joeberg and James Jordan as petroleum engineer Dale Bradley. Jon Hamm plays Monty Miller in season 1, while Andy Garcia’s Gallino takes on a larger presence in season 2. Sam Elliott joins as T L Norris, Tommy’s father.

Recurring roles include Colm Feore as Nathan, Alex Meraz as Jimenez in season 1, and Mustafa Speaks as Theodore Boss Ramone. Season 2 adds Stefania Spampinato. Guest appearances include Michael Peña as Armando Medina, Emilio Rivera as Luis Medina, Alejandro Akara as Elvio Medina, and several others who fill out the world of the oilfields.

Landman Season 2 continues weekly, and is available to stream on Paramount Plus. Episode 2 of the season, , titled Sins of the Father, lands on the platform on Sunday, November 23 at 3 a.m. ET.
