Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 3 is almost here! After an excruciating wait of two years, Paramount+ has finally announced the release date for the upcoming installment of the hit prequel series.

On Thursday, the streaming platform confirmed that Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 3 will be hitting the screens on July 17, 2025. The season will bring back the main cast members along with some exciting new additions.

Trekkies have been eagerly waiting to find out what happens with the U.S.S. Enterprise following the ending of Season 2, where the crew was attacked by a fleet of aliens. The next season is expected to pick up right after this cliffhanger.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 3 to premiere on July 17, 2025

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 3 will debut on Paramount+ on Thursday, July 17, 2025. Audiences will get to watch the first two episodes together on the premiere day, after which the show will start releasing one episode every Thursday.

The 10th and final episode of the season will be dropped on September 11, 2025. Announcing the release date on social media, Paramount+’s official handle wrote:

“New life, new civilizations, new adventures. Set a course for Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 3 on July 17.”

The show serves as a prequel to The Original Series, and has become popular with its experimental approach, which includes musical episodes and crossover with an animated series. In the previous season's finale, which aired in August 2023, the Enterprise became the target of the army of an alien species called the Gorn, which left their fates hanging in the balance.

The returning cast members in the new season include Anson Mount as Captain Christopher Pike, Ethan Peck as Spock, Rebecca Romijn as Una Chin-Riley, Christina Chong as La'An Noonien-Singh, Melissa Navia as Erica Ortegas, Jess Bush as Nurse Christine Chapel, Celia Rose Gooding as Nyota Uhura, and Babs Olusanmokun as Dr. Joseph M'Benga.

The new additions to the cast include Cillian O’Sullivan as Roger Korby, along with Rhys Darby and Patton Oswalt, who have been cast in undisclosed roles. Martin Quinn will also be seen in the show, reprising his role as Montgomery "Scotty" Scott from the previous season’s finale.

Paramount+ has teased what to expect from the new season with an official statement, which reads:

“[The season showcases] thrilling adventures of faith, duty, romance, comedy, and mystery, with varying genres never before seen on any other Star Trek.”
