Stranger Things 5, the final chapter of Netflix’s beloved supernatural saga, lands later this year, split into three event-style drops that’ll carry fans from Thanksgiving to New Year’s Eve. The story revolves around Hawkins being sealed off under military quarantine as the aftermath of the Rifts and Vecna's presence still haunts them. The gang is on a simple mission: find Vecna and destroy it before the terrifying darkness takes over again. Meanwhile, Eleven is back in hiding as the government tightens its grip.

Speaking about the final season, Matt Duffer told Tudum,

“We were like, ‘We know what’s going on in the Upside Down, more or less, but we want it to be unknowable. We want it to be mysterious.’ But they were like, ‘Yeah, but can you write it down?’ And so we wrote it all down.”

On the other hand, Ross Duffer also teased the last season in 2022 during Geeked Week, as he said,

“The last remaining questions that are answered in that document, we’ve punted a couple of those to have some big reveals in Season 5. And that’s really going to affect what Season 5 is about.”

The cast lineup brings back all the fan favorites: Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, Maya Hawke, Priah Ferguson, and Jamie Campbell Bower as Vecna. New faces include Linda Hamilton as Dr. Kay, Nell Fisher as Holly Wheeler, Jake Connelly as Derek, and Alex Breaux as Lt. Akers.

Stranger Things Season 5 will be released in three volumes. Volume 1 premieres on November 26 with four episodes, Volume 2 hits on Christmas with three, and the grand finale arrives December 31, each at 5 p.m. PST.
