As Stranger Things reaches its conclusion, Jamie Campbell Bower is taking one final bow as Henry Creel, aka Vecna, as he says goodbye to his character after his latest stint on Broadway's Stranger Things play. The actor gained acclaim for his role on the show and has reprised it for the stage version of the story. With the final volume less than a week away, Bower is opening up on saying goodbye to Vecna.
Speaking to People Magazine, the actor said,
"It's such an amazing and quite bizarre thing to have a character I created with Matt and Ross [Duffer] exist in what feels like perpetuity on stage played by various people. That's an amazing gift. I think every single actor that will come to the role will bring something new and will bring their own interpretation of it."
He also spoke about acting on stage, responding to a question on whether he would like to play Vecna again, as he responded that he has done his bit and now the role is "for someone else to have a play." But that doesn't mean he is opting out of theater completely! Bower spoke about wanting to get back on the stage as he added,
"If the right show came along for me on Broadway, I would love to do it. I've already had brief discussions after wrapping up season 5 about where I want to go next and what I want to do. I've been very fortunate because this year I've been working on Rings of Power for Amazon, but theater is definitely in my blood."
More details on Stranger Things Season 5
The fifth and final season of the global phenomenon is finally here, and with just the first volume out, fans are already stressed over what the finale will bring and where it will take all their favorite characters. For a quick recap, the first volume of Stranger Things 5 ended with Noah Schnapp's Will Byers revealing himself to have psychic abilities, which raises further questions about his relationship with Vecna and how it will play out for the rest of the episodes.
On the other hand, Sadie Sink's Max Mayfield is still in a coma, stuck inside Vecna's memories with Holly Wheeler. The trailer for the show's second volume suggests that Max will have more to do in the new episodes, bringing her arc to a close.
The first four episodes are out already, and the second volume is all set to drop on Christmas, with the finale releasing on New Year's Eve.
All seasons of Stranger Things are available to stream on Netflix.
