S.W.A.T. Exiles, the spin-off of S.W.A.T., will follow Daniel Harrelson, better known as Hondo, as he returns from retirement for one more task and has to lead a team of inexperienced and untrained recruits. Shemar Moore is going to reprise his role as Hondo.
Now, as Deadline reports, Sony has revealed the full cast of S.W.A.T. Exiles, who will be joining Shemar Moore.
S.W.A.T. Exiles full cast revealed
S.W.A.T. ran on CBS from 2017 to 2025 for eight seasons. It was cancelled after six seasons in 2023, but then renewed for a seventh and eighth season. The last season ended on 16th May 2025. But it was not renewed for a tenth season. Now, the spin-off of the show is in development and will start filming later this month.
As Deadline reports, other than Shemar Moore, S.W.A.T. Exiles' full cast includes Lucy Barrett, Adain Bradley, Zyra Gorecki, Freddy Miyares, and Ronen Rubinstein in regular roles. Particular roles of the actors are yet to be revealed. Jay Harrington and Patrick St. Esprit will be reprising their roles as Sergeant II David Kay and Commander Robert Hicks, respectively, in guest roles. The legacy actors are going to appear in the pilot episode.
Barrett is known for starring in Deep Water, Charmed, and Bloom. Adain Bradley has famously starred in Warfare and Tarot recently, while you might recognize Zyra Gorecki from La Brea. Freddy Miyares is known for his performances in When They See Us and DMZ, while Ronen Rubinstein is popularly known for 9-1-1 Lone Star.
S.W.A.T. Exiles is developed by Jason Ning, who is also an executive producer along with Neal H. Moritz, Pavun Shetty, Shemar Moore, Jason Ning, and James Scura. The production companies behind the spin-off are Original Film, Sony Pictures, and Television Studios. Kevin Tancharoen is directing the pilot.
According to Deadline, the show has the following logline:
After a high-profile mission goes sideways, Daniel “Hondo” Harrelson (Moore) is pulled out of forced retirement to lead a last-chance experimental SWAT unit made up of untested, unpredictable young recruits. Hondo must bridge a generational divide, navigate clashing personalities, and turn a squad of outsiders into a team capable of protecting the city and saving the program that made him who he is.
S.W.A.T. Exiles is not only giving a chance for the story of the original show to continue, but also for the fans to be able to follow Hondo's story despite S.W.A.T.'s cancellation. But it is yet to be picked up by a network. Given that CBS cancelled the original show, the spin-off will most likely not be picked up by them. Thus, we just have to wait to see who picks it up. Stay tuned for more updates.
S.W.A.T. is streaming on Paramount+.
