Star Wars Andor Season 2 Episode 3 featured a difficult scene to watch, which highlights violence against women, even in a faraway galaxy.

After Imperial forces land on the planet Bix Caleen (Adria Arjona) is hiding out, Imperial lieutenant Krole suggests a disgusting deal. He offers that Bix sleep with him and in turn, he would not report her. Bix first begged him but then channels her self-defense and bloodied him with a wrench until they enter into a full-on physical brawl.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Arjona talks about the filming of this difficult scene in Andor Season 2:

"It was challenging because everyone involved in the creation of that scene felt the importance of what this scene meant, not only for the show, but for Star Wars,"

Praising the stunt team and director Ariel Kleiman, she added:

"We had an amazing stunt team and partner in Ari as a director, who shot that scene scientifically and in such a precise way so as to save us from doing a million takes''

Star Wars has never shied away from depicting violence against women and Bix's violent encounter with Krole shows how easy it is for powerful men like him to subjugate women.

While filming for this brutal scene in Andor Season 2 was surely challenging for Arjona and the crew, she did extensive research about women who have experienced similar unfortunate events.

Talking about the research process, Arjona discussed:

"That process was the most draining. And it stayed with me. By the time that I was doing the scenes, it felt like I was telling a little part of the story of the five individuals who I really honed in on their stories...It felt like I was making them proud.''

Before Krole could attack her, Bix even tries to threaten the lieutenant by mentioning her 'husband' Cassian. Further talking about the scene, Arjona notes that while Bix and Cassian are not married yet, she used the term 'husband' to ward Krole off.

As seen in many violent encounters, the woman usually threatens her abuser by mentioning her male companion and Bix did precisely that in Season 2 Episode 3. Talking about how Tony Gilroy mirrors the events of his shows to the real world, Arjona remarks:

''He brings this mirror effect that [shows] the things that happen in our world can also happen in a galaxy far, far away."

Andor Season 2 is available to stream on Disney+ now.
