The second season of Wednesday just pulled off a wild flex on Netflix, as the new season has climbed to the fourth spot on the streamer's list of most-watched English shows. After weeks of global buzz, repeat viewings, and a frankly chaotic amount of TikTok edits, the show’s updated numbers show the new season's success and that fans are still open to having more of Nevermore Academy and Jenna Ortega's Wednesday Addams and her spooky adventures.

The season premiered in August this year after a three-year torturous gap and finally ended in September with 928 million hours viewed, equal to 119 million views. Season 1 remains far ahead with 1.7188 billion hours and 252.1 million views, but season 2 still ranks among Netflix’s biggest titles.

Other titles on this list include Adolescence, the fourth season of Stranger Things, DAHMER, Bridgerton, and The Queen's Gambit. If anything, these figures prove that even with the streamer's increasing number of hits, Wednesday stays on top as the most watched and loved show, and with a third season incoming, this legacy will only make more and more space to grow.

Everything we know about Wednesday Season

Wednesday season 2 might have wrapped, but the mysteries at Nevermore are nowhere near finished. With Netflix officially renewing the series ahead of season 2’s premiere, the countdown to season 3 has already begun.

Tim Burton and Jenna Ortega confirmed the renewal in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter on July 23, 2025, and Netflix followed with a poster showing Wednesday gazing into a crystal ball held by Thing, marked with a giant number three. Alfred Gough and Miles Millar explained through Tudum that season 3 will dig deeper into the characters and widen the world of Nevermore. They also teased more Addams family secrets as Gough told Tudum,

“Our goal for Season 3 is the same as it is for every season: to make it the best season of Wednesday we possibly can. We want to continue digging deeper into our characters while expanding the world of Nevermore and Wednesday. We will be seeing more Addams family members and learning more family secrets in Season 3!”

The Hollywood Reporter also noted early conversations about a potential spinoff, something the creators admitted they are considering. Millar and Gough have previously said they mapped story ideas as far as four seasons back when season 1 was still new.

Production for season 3 is expected to begin in November 2025. Given the timeline of prior seasons, a summer 2026 premiere seems possible. A trailer is still far off since filming has not started. More details are awaited for now.

The first two seasons of Wednesday are available to stream on Netflix.
