Zaina and J.R. exchange a difficult conversation - The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On
In episode 8 of The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On, couples appear to be reconnecting with their partners better than ever before. While some are still struggling with their times in the trial marriages, J.R. and Zaina shared a deep conversation.
Zaina opens up about how she realized that the couple might have been dating for three years, but there is so much more she would like to know about J.R.
As The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On couple sat down to eat, J.R. talks about his childhood with his 6 siblings,
"I had a lot of insecurities growing up, mostly due to my upbringing. A lot of people haven't experienced what I've been through. Going through homeless shelters, not having food, like, at dinnertime sometimes."
He further adds,
"Having to wear hand-me-down clothes to school. People would tell me I was ugly all the time in school. "Is this normal?" Sometimes, you know, you question God. Like, why am I like this? I didn't know who I was and who I would become."
He further talks about how he has evolved over the years and has accepted himself.
Zaina validates his feelings by appreciating his growth with so much negativity around him,
"That's really, really, really beautiful that you've gotten to that place because I feel like it's hard. Especially if you never had people speaking positively about you or trying to like build you up. You had to build yourself up and you had to rely on, like God, too, of course."
Later in the episode, Zaina expresses how she felt the two were drifting apart and now she is falling for J.R. again. She also talks about how she believes Sandy was the best match for J.R. for the trial marriage as she challenged him and helped their relationship.
As the conversation continued, J.R. expressed how he thinks of himself as an "idiot" and is blindsided to truly see Zaina.
Zaina also throws a little early birthday surprise for J.R. as this could be their last night together before The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On big decision.
