Netflix's Found TV series saw two successful seasons as fans dove in deep into the show that explored the overlooked cases that law enforcement skips over. With a renewed surge in its popularity, fans are now wondering if a third season will ever see the light of day and if the show will have a possible future.
Releasing originally on NBC in 2023, it received praise and acclaim for its writing and cast but fell apart after it was canceled after its sophomore run, leaving quite a lot of unanswered questions and unresolved narrative threads. With its debut on Netflix and an interest among binge watchers, the Found TV series is now back in the spotlight, and a possible future sounds.
However, no plans for renewal have been made so far, and neither Netflix nor NBC has made any decisions or announcements about its future. This gives fans a bleak picture, as they sit over all the mysteries the show has left unresolved, and if a possible third season will ever be announced to give the audience the answers they have been looking for.
What is the Found TV series about?
The Found TV series follows Shanola Hampton's character Gabrielle Mosely, who is a PR specialist and runs a crisis management firm. Her focus is on finding missing people who have been ignored and forgotten by the law and media. Cases that didn't make headlines and involved undocumented workers, runaway teens, and people from marginalized communities.
The show's official synopsis reads,
“Hunt the enemy. Save the missing. Shanola Hampton and Mark-Paul Gosselaar return for a gripping all-new season of shocking twists. After bringing her darkest secret to light, Gabi must rebuild trust with her team and face her escaped kidnapper once again, all while rescuing the missing people who need her… before it’s too late.”
A central plot point of the show is that Gabrielle herself was kidnapped as a child, and although she survived and made it back, years later, she kidnaps that man back and keeps him in her basement. On the other hand, Gabrielle's team is just as layered. Each member has a personal connection to abduction or loss, which makes their work deeply emotional and sometimes dangerously obsessive. Found is less about clean resolutions and more about the psychological cost of searching for the truth.
Although news of the Found TV series' renewal has not been announced yet, its newfound popularity on streaming could certainly contribute to that.
Found is available to stream on Netflix.
