The NeNe Leakes Show Episode 6 saw Tamar Braxton as the guest, as she talked about her life, family, reality TV shows, and more. During their conversation, the host also shared some stories with The Surreal Life star.
NeNe Leakes, who is one of the most well-known celebrities from The Real Housewives of Atlanta, revealed that she was once offered a job on one of the shows Tamar Braxton did. The reality TV star shared how she was one of the first choices for The Real but had to pass it on due to her prior commitments with RHOA. In her own words, Linnethia Monique "NeNe" Leakes said,
“This is a little story that a lot of you guys do not know out there. I was asked to be on The Real and this was in the beginning of the process of them casting. I think it was, I'm sure it was Tamar and the other girls, but I was asked to be one of the first girls. when the show first originally started. I had the contract.”
She revealed that the job ultimately went to Loni Love, who ended up co-hosting throughout all eight seasons of the show. NeNe Leakes said,
“I ended up not doing The Real and they ended up casting Loni Love. Y'all know y'all would have liked me first. I'm just kidding. I was on Real Housewives of Atlanta, so I just did not do The Real, but Tamar ultimately did The Real.”
The College Hill: Celebrity Edition star eventually appeared as a guest co-host on 15 episodes of The Real across different seasons.
Tamar Braxton called Loni Love a “Big Back Cadillac” on
The NeNe Leakes Show, claiming she wouldn’t have cast her on The Real
The Braxton Family Values star was a co-host and a producer on The Real for its initial seasons. When Leakes shared her anecdote of passing on the opportunity to be a part of the reality TV show as a co-host, Tamar shared her opinion. The Braxtons member asserted that she wouldn't have cast “Big Back Cadillac,” if she had previously known about NeNe declining the job. Tamar Braxton said,
“That's why I'm saying [on being referred to as a producer on The Real], I wish they would have told me that cuz I wouldn't have cast Big Cadillac. I'm going to get ready to leave. We will probably be in our 10th season by now. Thanks. Ain't that dumb? And that's no shade.”
On being asked about who is “Big Back Cadillac,” Tamar replied, “The person you just named,” i.e., Loni Love. NeNe Leakes then explained,
“So Loni ended up being the person in the place of where I think, that's what I think. I'm just assuming now. They had came to they came to me with the contract for the real, and then I ultimately did not do it.”
Tamar Braxton proclaimed that she didn’t “understand” Loni getting the job after NeNe Leakes declined.
The former co-host of The Real had a longstanding feud with Loni Love. In 2016, Tamar accused her former colleague of writing to the network to get her kicked off the show. Loni declined the allegations, but their beef has seemingly continued ever since.
