Yellowstone has quietly altered a significant part of the show's upcoming spinoff, The Dutton Ranch, as the first look of the show was recently revealed in an exclusive event. Revolving around Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler, the spinoff focuses on the couple and their journey outside Yellowstone and how they navigate their relationship.

The first look of the show was shown during the Golden Globe Awards event, where we also got to know that the show's title has undergone a small change. It will no longer be known as The Dutton Ranch and will now be simply called Dutton Ranch.

The official synopsis of the show reads,

“Beth Dutton (Reilly) and Rip Wheeler (Hauser) are grateful for the peace they sought, fought, and nearly died for with their 7,000-acre Dutton Ranch. With tough times and stiff competition, Beth and Rip do what they must to survive, all while ensuring Carter (Little) becomes the man he’s supposed to be.”

It's unlikely that the change in the title will affect the premise in any way, but we will, of course, know more when further details are announced.

The Yellowstone universe is expanding, and it is shaping up to be a busy year for fans. Filming has officially started for Dutton Ranch, and although the show has been behind the curtains for a while, we will surely know more soon.

The series picks up after the events of Yellowstone, with the couple starting their lives over on a smaller ranch and attempting to have a peaceful life. Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser are reprising their roles as Beth and Rip, with Finn Little as Carter.

The couple have been two of the most important and influential characters of the show, and their romantic but often turbulent relationship has served as one of the main arcs of the show. Dutton Ranch will let viewers get a more focused take on their lives and how they deal with their little life outside all the stormy elements.

Production for the show started in Fort Worth in August 2025, and while the cast has mostly stayed silent, the show is expected to premiere in 2026 on Paramount+. There's already a verified Instagram account for the show, which means more details will be out soon.

The cast lineup is stacked, as we are being joined by heavyweights like Annette Bening and Ed Harris, alongside Jai Courtney. New series regulars include Natalie Alyn Lind, Marc Menchaca, Juan Pablo Raba, and JR Villarreal, each playing characters deeply embedded in ranch life, power struggles, and moral gray zones.

Yellowstone is available to stream on Peacock. More details about Dutton Ranch are awaited for now.
