Shark Tank's investor, Daymond John, had a keen insight to share with his fans through his Instagram by posting a video. The video was about treating the staff at restaurants with respect and dignity. John is strictly against taking out one's anger on the person "serving you the food." He emphasized getting along with the people and maintaining mutual respect.
Daymond John posted a video on Instagram recently and captioned it:
"BE CAREFUL HOW YOU TREAT PEOPLE, ESPECIALLY THOSE HANDLING YOUR FOOD!"
The video focused on why it is important to treat waiters and waitresses right when you go to a restaurant; they are people, too, and might be having a bad day. John explained that messing with young staff at food places could be lethal for the customer because they can mishandle your food.
He further elaborated his point and said:
"I don't know what to want because the waiter could be mishandling or spitting your food. The waiter or waitress could be somebody who's 18 years old, pissed off at the boss. They don't even wanna be there, and you're snapping your fingers at them."
Daymond John, the Shark Tank investor warns people who think they are the "boss" while visiting restaurants
Shark Tank's Diamond John didn't seem to be joking when he warned the customers that their bad behavior could land them into trouble. He mentioned in the aforementioned video that he has worked in the food industry and knows how it works. People who boss around when they visit a food joint and expect a waiter or waitress would respect them are wrong.
The Shark Tank's investor urged people to "treat them with respect" as they might not care to serve the food rightly. He pointed out the examples where the staff spit on the food or just served the "steak," which fell right before their eyes because they did not care. On top of that, if you are projecting a misdemeanor, they would not care to serve you right.
He also warned the customers not to think that going to the same restaurant and behaving like their "boss" would help them get the best treatment. It could backfire as well. He said:
"And by the way, if you keep going back to that restaurant, you're late. Listen. They know me here. I check them. Oh, they check you every time you come. So you know they're gonna just check you next week. And that is often when people don't realize they're a boss, you're being a boss when somebody is your waiter or waitress."
Daymond John appeared as an investor in ABC's Shark Tank Season 16.
