Nice to Not Meet You Episodes 1-2 recap: Hyun-joon and Jeong-sin's chaotic feud heats up

Nice to Not Meet You brings us a fresh story filled with a distinct level of humor. Along with it, there is a touch of realism. The story unfolds a combination of multiple plotlines. Each of these storylines seamlessly connects to the others to form a heartwarming story.

With only two episodes, Nice to Not Meet You is already becoming the go-to for viewers eager to watch the very talented Lee Jung-jae and Lim Ji-yeon come together to give their breathtaking performances. The first two episodes of the series set the stage for the further complications that the story will unfold in the later episodes of the series.

Hyun-joon and Jeong-sin's chaotic feud heats up in Nice to Not Meet You

The first episode of Nice to Not Meet You begins with an introduction of Lee Jung-jae’s character, Lim Hyun-joon. The difference between the present and the past situations of Lim Hyun-joon forms the foundation of the storyline. Hyun-joon now works at a print shop. However, his life was not this mundane before. Previously, Hyun-joon was an actor.

A scandal with his ex-girlfriend changed everything for him. In this episode of Nice to Not Meet You, he is tasked to visit his ex-girlfriend, Se-na. He needs to give her a script. However, Se-na’s behavior towards him is truly disheartening. It is revealed that before Hyun-joon lost his fame, Se-na asked him to take the entire responsibility of the scandal. As a result, Hyun-joon lost his fame. Se-na’s fame, on the other hand, skyrocketed.

As the episode progresses, Lim Ji-yeon’s character, Wi Jeong-sin, is introduced. She is a dedicated reporter working to unearth a murder case. She meets the secretary of Congressman Ha Gee-wan; however, nothing comes to light; rather, she has to leave when the secretary tries to bribe her to keep her mouth shut. She then crosses paths with Hyun-joon.

Instead of understanding that Hyun-jin is trying to help her, she thinks that he is kidnapping her. The episode progresses further, and Park Byeong-ki is introduced. Park Byeong-ki is making a movie, Good Detective Kang Pil-gu. This movie becomes the propelling factor for Hyun-joon in his career. Byeong-ki decides to cast Hyun-joon in this new movie, and soon the process begins.

However, returning to his casting career after such a long time is definitely not easy for him. He struggles during the filming process but eventually completes the movie successfully. After this movie drops, Hyun-joon’s fame catapults, and he regains his earlier fame as an actor.

For seven years, he has kept on doing one project after another related to the same Detective Kang Pil-gu. Hyun-joon is completely drained out by doing the same type of projects and wants to do something new. He tries to speak to Byeong-ki about getting newer projects, but they do not accept it. On the other hand, Jeong-sin’s situation is also in a dubious state.

She finds out that she is being transferred to the entertainment department, which she completely disapproves of. The episode ends in a hilarious situation with Jeong-sin trying to speak to Chairman Lee Dae-ho to stop her transfer; however, he tells her to speak to him later.

Irritated by the situation, she pushes through the crowd. She then reaches to take out her pen drive. Thinking that Jeong-sin is trying to attack the chairman, Hyun-joon runs to stop her. Their altercation leads him to end up falling down the stairs. The cameras began to flash all around him as the fall caused him to rip his pants, exposing his underwear.

The second episode of Nice to Not Meet You further complicates Jeong-sin and Hyun-joon’s lives. Jeong-sin is now officially transferred, and Hyun-joon is suffering from the situation that happened at the award ceremony. He also wants to do some new projects; however, it does not work. Jeong-sin thinks that the reason she is transferred is because of Hyun-joon. So the only way to get revenge is to find a scandal on him. Their relationship gets further complicated when Hyun-joon meets a new director to speak for a project.

However, the director does not offer Hyun-joon any new roles. Hyun-joon understands that the articles that Jeong-sin wrote about him created a negative impact on the director’s mind. As a result, he refuses to give him any new projects. On the other hand, Jeong-sin's emotions undergo a complete turn. She initially was completely averse to Hyun-joon.

Now she finds out a new side of him after watching Good Detective Kang Pil-gu. His acting prowess completely baffles her. She ends up completely smitten. This episode of Nice to Not Meet You ends with Hyun-joon coming to meet Jeong-sin. Jeong-sin is completely shocked to see him. This episode of Nice to Not Meet You depicts that the upcoming episodes will be quite intriguing, considering Jeong-sin’s evolved feelings towards Hyun Joon.
