Nice to Not Meet You Episodes 3-4 recap: Hyun-joon's past unravels and Jeong-sin's moral dilemma

Nice to Not Meet You is definitely giving the viewers a fresh storyline filled with the perfect combination of humor and depth. Past struggles, coupled with the desire to make a name for oneself, become the foundation of the storyline in Nice to Not Meet You.

After the events of the first and the second episodes, where Hyun-joon and Jeong-sin’s dynamic is taking a hilarious turn, the third and the fourth episodes of the series set the stage for some more complications between the two of them.

Hyun-joon’s past unravels, and Jeong-sin’s moral dilemma in Nice to Not Meet You Episodes 3-4

Episode 3 of Nice to Not Meet You begins where things are left off at the end of the second episode. In the second episode, Jeong-sin begins to see a completely different side of Hyun-joon after binge-watching his projects. The third episode begins with Hyun-joon arriving to meet Jeong-sin. He takes her to discuss something. Initially, Jeong-sin tries to evade the situation by indicating that she has work.

However, Hyun-joon is persistent. He takes her to a conference room where he begins their conversation by apologizing for his behavior. The situation quickly takes a different turn when Hyun-joon pulls out a contract paper. It contains certain rules that Jeong-sin needs to follow to get exclusive interviews from him. Hyun-joon thought that Jeong-sin would be eager to accept this contract, but it is just the opposite.

Jeong-sin gets extremely angry and leaves the place after threatening Hyun-joon. On the other hand, Hyun-joon and Jeong-sin’s brothers plan to set two of them up for a blind date. This episode in Nice to Not Meet You takes a turn when Jeong-sin falls sick and is taken to the hospital. Hyun-joon is eager about the new project that his manager introduced him to. However, it can be understood that there is something that he is not telling them.

Soon, it is revealed that the female of the new project is Hyun-joon’s ex-girlfriend. Hyun-joon is completely taken aback, and a flashback scene appears where their discussion occurred when Se-na behaved with him in a very disheartening manner. As this episode of Nice to Not Meet You continues, Hyun-joon’s mother comes to visit him, where they discuss a new project that she wants to do.

However, their conversation leads Hyun-joon to get completely disappointed. It is revealed that in his childhood, he faced quite a lot of trouble because of his mother. Remembering this makes him sleepless. He decides to take sleeping medicines. He ends up taking more than necessary. Mr. Hwang, seeing him unconscious in a disheveled state, takes him to the hospital.

After waking up, he tells him that he did not want to die and that it was all a mistake. As the episode continues, it is also revealed that Jeong-sin is in the same hospital as Hyun-joon and is getting treatment for her appendix. Hwa-yeong wants to use this opportunity and tells Jeong-sin to find exclusive information about Hyun-joon’s case so that she can get back to political news.

Jeong-sin decides to take this opportunity and sneaks into Hyun-joon’s hospital room. She gets to eavesdrop on all the conversations that Hyun-joon has with his visitors. However, she gets caught. They discuss face-to-face about the rumor, even though Hyun-joon is completely disappointed with the situation. The fifth episode of Nice to Not Meet You ends with Hyun-joon deciding to go for the blind date that his brother set him up with.

Episode 4 of Nice to Not Meet You begins where things are left off in the third episode. While Hyun-joon is waiting for his date, it is revealed that Jeong-sin entered the wrong date. After realizing that she is with the wrong person, she quickly leaves. She then searches for her date. After waiting, Jeong-sin finally arrives. Seeing Jeong-sin Hyun-joon is completely shocked. Both of them are irritated about this situation.

Jeong-sin says that her brother is a film major. This raises concerns in Hyun-joon. He gets worried about his brother’s education. They soon end their date. After returning, Hyun-joon confronts his brother about meeting Jeong-sin’s brother. He is angered by his brother’s decision to pursue acting instead.

As this episode of Nice to Not Meet You progresses, it can be understood that Jeong-sin left quite an impact on Hyun-joon’s mind. He keeps thinking about her. On the other hand, Jeong-sin finds out that her team is working on a project that involves Hyun-joon’s mother. Hwa-yeong tells Jeong-sin to write an article about this, which they plan to release before the press conference.

During Hyun-joon’s Artisan Ramyeon conference, the article involving his mother begins to create a problem. The reporters begin to question him about his mother’s acting career. Hearing the questions, Hyun-joon begins to panic and almost loses consciousness. He is taken inside, where he informs them that he is having a panic attack. He visits a therapist whose words do not help him much.

The episode continues with Hyun-joon having a conversation with Jeong-sin about his mother, which leaves him thinking about his concerns for his mother. His mother arrives the next day to tell him that his brother will be living in his house, as she is concerned about Hyun-joon’s health. This episode ends with Hyun-joon facing yet another trouble when he finds out that the director for the new season of his show will be Park Byeong-gi. He begins to reminisce about the traumatic experience he had with Park Byeong-gi as the director.
