The Hulu-exclusive K-drama is set to release its first few episodes on May 21, and it guarantees a maze of secrets just waiting to be unknotted.

Here's a look at everything that has been currently revealed.

A forgotten crime resurfaces in Nine Puzzles

Ten years ago, a ruthless murder tore apart within the world of Yoon Yi-Na. Her uncle—her only family member left alive—was now found dead, and she was the only person present at the crime scene.

Not only did Yi-Na fail to recollect what happened that fateful night, but she also turned into the primary crime suspect in the eyes of a detective named Kim Han-Saem, who is assigned to the case.

That night not only altered the course of her life—it sent it into completely new spirals and directions.

Now, a decade later, Nine Puzzles follows Yi-Na’s character from being a silent criminal suspect to being a full-blown, experienced criminal profiler.

She has spent the last six years working with Seoul’s metropolitan police, decrypting criminal motives from crime scenes with complete precision.

When fresh new murders start ringing on to the same circumstances of her uncle’s case, a murder that took place 10 years ago, right down to a symbolic puzzle piece that was left behind, Yi-Na is now forced to face not only a killer but also her unsolved past.

As fate has it, she must work with Han-Saem, the same detective who once made her a suspect all those years ago.

Release schedule, creative team, and cast at a glance

Nine Puzzles is set to release on Hulu with six episodes premiering on May 21, three episodes more on May 28, and a two-part finale scheduled for release on June 4. The series is also accessible globally through Disney+.

The K-Drama has been directed by Yoon Jong-Bin, and the script has been penned by Lee Eun-Mi.

The cast for the K-Drama is led by Kim Da-mi as Yi-Na, bringing the utmost amount of nuance to a character torn apart between her traumatic past and her role as a criminal profiler.

Son Suk-Ku stars as Han-Saem, the officer who once suspected Yi-Na but now teams up with her under troubled circumstances.

Supporting the two leads are actors like Kim Sung-Kyun, Park Gyu-Young, Lee Hee-Jun, and Hwang Jung-Min, who contribute to the show's complex character dynamics.

Each and every actor brings emotional depth to a thriller K-Drama that clings to human psychology as much as it clings to the investigative side of things.

The premise of the show might be thrilling, but it's the tension between the characters that actually puts fuel to the already burning fire.

Nine Puzzles is more than a crime/thriller K-Drama—it’s a multi-layered look at concepts like guilt, remembrance, and trust all wrapped up together in a tightly bound cloth.

With its character dynamics and a progressing mystery – all tied to a single night a decade ago, the drama could be on track to be one of this year’s most exhilarating additions to Hulu’s K-drama slate.
