No Gain No Love K-drama ending explained: Hae-yeong and Ji-wook’s bittersweet reunion

Popular K-drama, No Gain No Love, starring Dear X's Kim Young-dae and Hometown Cha Cha Cha's Shin Min-a, premiered in 2024 and is considered one of the most popular K-dramas of the year. The story revolved around Min-a's Son, Hae-yeong, who hires Young-dae's character, Kim Ji-wook, to be her fake groom so that she doesn't lose a job promotion.

Through several hardships and a challenging road, the duo fall in love, but Hae-yeong decides to let Ji-wook leave and do what he wants to do rather than take care of others. However, after the death of her mother, she finally meets him again and, with a drunk confession from Ji-wook, reunites at the end of the episode.

No Gain No Love K-drama ending explained: Gyu-hyun helps Hae-yeong in her new business venture

In Episode 12 of No Gain No Love, Hae-yeong learns about her mother's passing away. She later tells Ji-wook to leave her and think about his own life. All his life, he has been taking care of others' needs, and for once, she wants him to focus on his own life. Therefore, he leaves Korea and goes to Canada.

In the meantime, Hae-yeong starts her own business with Yeo Ha-joon, Gyu-hyun's assistant. Gyu-hyun, who has now shown his father that he is ready to take over the CEO position, also helps Hae-young and Ha-joon with funding for their company. He further tells his father that he will choose his bride himself.

Furthermore, it is also shown that Gyu-hyun also has a good relationship with Ji-wook, who has been living in Canada for the past 8 months and returns in the finale episode.

No Gain No Love K-drama ending explained: Ji-wook's heartfelt confession to Hae-yeong

After 8 months, Ji-wook and Hae-yeong cross paths again in the finale of No Gain No Love. Hae-yeong stumbles into Ji-wook when she goes to visit her mother's house and sees him with a woman, and thinks he is engaged.

As they encounter again in the convenience store where she met Ji-wook for the first time, she congratulates him on his upcoming wedding and also tells him he was the reason she started smoking, as she remembers he was the one who gave her the lighter. While she thought of parting ways again, Ji-wook then took the alcohol from her and drank it. He then reveals that the woman with her was her step-sister and he was ger to attend a wedding, not his own.

He also informs her that his relationship with his stepfather has also improved, and gives her a snowglobe that he bought for her from Canada, as it was her birthday. Hae-yeong later had to take him home. At the end, Hae-yeong wakes up alone in her room and thinks of being abandoned again. However, Ji-wook does not leave her, and they get their bittersweet ending at the end.

Apart from Hae-yeong and Ji-wook's love story, the K-drama also ends Gyu-hyun and Ja-yeon on a happy note as the former gives her a promise ring.
