Nobody Wants This Season 2 is back with a bang.

Since the September 2024 premiere of the Emmy-nominated Netflix blockbuster, fans had been clamoring for a second season of the agnostic podcaster and rabbi's electric love story. These prayers have finally been answered as the modern-day rom-com returned for its second installment.

With Adam Brody and Kristen Bell as the leading duo, a brand-new addition to the cast had the fans even more excited for the second season. This addition was Gossip Girl's Blair Waldorf star, Leighton Meester, as Abby. Leighton Meester made her appearance in the fifth episode of the season, titled Abby Loves Smoothies.

Nobody Wants This Season 2: Who plays whom in Episode 5 Abby Loves Smoothies

The romance between Kristen Bell and Adam Brody's characters is definitely the highlight of Nobody Wants This. However, witnessing the real-life couple Adam Brody and Leighton Meester in a scene together, paired with the Gossip Girl reunion (Bell voiced the Gossip Girl on the show where Meester played Blair Waldorf), was an entirely different treat.

Adam Brody plays Noah, a rabbi whose life was completely turned upside down after meeting and falling in love with an agnostic (very-not-jewish) podcaster, Joanne. At the end of the first season, we find the couple choosing to stay with each other with the understanding that Joanne would convert to Judaism.

In Nobody Wants This Season 2, Joanne is seen struggling with the idea of changing herself for Noah, whereas Noah also struggles with the idea of choosing love over the advancement of his career. The fifth episode finds Noah getting his first baby-naming ceremony gig, and to make things better, his partner Joanne wants to accompany him to the Jewish ceremony, but there's a catch.

Kristen Bell returns as the agnostic podcaster, Joanne, in the fifth episode of Nobody Wants This Season 2, but this time around, she's trying to support and understand her partner's culture as she decides to accompany him to a Jewish baby-naming ceremony.

But she might have some deeper, not-so-innocent motives behind going to this ceremony, as Noah had revealed to her that the mom-influencer Abby Kaplan, Joanne's middle-school nemesis, was the baby's mom. Joanne promises Noah that she's going to be good at the ceremony and not mess it up for his career, and to her credit, she really does try.

Adam Brody's real-life partner, Leighton Meester, joins the Nobody Wants This Season 2 cast as Abby Kaplan, Joanne's middle-school nemesis who cut off Joanne's American Girl Doll's hair at a sleepover. As anybody who has owned one of those, you would know it is a crime worthy of lifelong enemity.

Abby hires Noah for her baby-naming ceremony, but instead of being immersed in the ceremony and Noah's speech, she is more concerned about clicking selfies and videos for her mom-influencer page. Nevertheless, by the end of the episode, Abby and Joanne end up solving their feud, much to the chagrin of Abby's baby, who now owns one fewer American Girl Doll.

Additionally, Justine Lupe's Morgan is also seen in this episode of Nobody Wants This Season 2. The actor is also joined by Jackie Tohn's Esther, who was going through her own emotional breakdown in this episode, what with the bangs and all.
