Noah and Joanne’s ending in Nobody Wants This Season 2

Noah and Joanne’s relationship in Nobody Wants This Season 2 begins with a fresh level of dedication from the two of them. After the many differences that led to a devastating breakup between the two of them, they find their way back to each other.

Noah and Joanne decide to make things work. Initially, Noah thought that Joanne would be converting, so it would be easy for him to get the job as the senior rabbi. However, Joanne reveals that she does not want to convert. This marks the start of their troubles.

Later in Nobody Wants This Season 2, Noah finds out that he is not chosen as the senior rabbi, and the reason for it is related to his relationship with Joanne. He struggles with this hindrance in his career. His parents also constantly begin to point out Joanne’s influence on Noah’s life; Noah's mother thinks Joanne is stopping him from progressing in his career.

Morgan informs Noah’s mother about Noah’s choice. She tells her that it was his decision to stay with Joanne and that it was not Joanne who pressured Noah, but the tension remains. A crack seems to be slowly growing between Joanne and Noah.

Soon, their relationship faces another hindrance with the arrival of Valentine’s Day. Joanne and Morgan get a call from a woman who says that she dated Noah and adds that their relationship did not end well. This woman’s words about Noah being “obsessed” and then breaking up with her right after she referred to him as her boyfriend create an intriguing situation.

Joanne confronts Noah about this woman, and his words definitely do not sound convincing. With each episode, their relationship began to grow weaker and weaker, facing a multitude of troubles. Soon, Morgan began dating and was proposed to. This created a difficult situation for Joanne, and she wanted Noah to move in with her.

Hearing Joanne's proposal, Noah gets quite reluctant. Joanne takes Noah's words as a sign. It becomes an indication that their relationship is not moving forward. In the tenth episode of Nobody Wants This Season 2, Noah and Joanne visit Morgan’s engagement party. Before entering the party, they decide to pretend that their relationship is doing well.

After they reach the party, Noah speaks to Sasha, who voices his fear of ending up hating his wife after twenty years. This makes Noah understand that forcing Joanne into the relationship might also lead them to hate one another over the years.

At the engagement party, Joanne asks Morgan if something is bothering her. Morgan tells Joanne that she is not ready to get married. She explains that she is not happy with the engagement. Joanne pushes her to end things with her fiancé. Listening to her sister, Morgan tries to break up. However, her fiancé manipulates her into accepting the situation.

Joanne understands that this might be the real end of their relationship. There is no going back from here. Joanne, reeling from the breakup, comes across yet another unexpected pivotal moment because of Esther. While speaking to Esther, she understands how connected she feels with the Jewish traditions.

Her conversation with Esther shifted something in her, and she ran off to find Noah. The scene cuts to Noah, who is also searching for Joanne. The episode ends with Noah and Joanne finding one another and sharing a heartfelt moment where Noah calls her his “soulmate”.
