Kristen Bell has shared a hopeful update about Nobody Wants This Season 3. The beloved rom-com series, which bagged three Emmy nominations in 2025, returned with a second season on Netflix recently.
Starring Bell and Adam Brody as an agnostic podcaster and a rabbi, the show follows their tumultuous relationship as Bell's character Joanne tries to fit into her boyfriend Noah's Jewish family.
Nobody Wants This Season 2 marked the return of Noah and Joanne's second outing as an interfaith couple trying to make it work. While Netflix has not greenlit Nobody Wants This Season 3 yet, Bell has revealed in an interview that 'The writer's room is working right now.'
Noah broke up with Joanne, only to choose her over his faith. (again) in the latest finale but the season concluded with many loose threads. Nobody Wants This Season 3 needs to happen to address these 5 questions from the second chapter.
Nobody Wants This Season 3 needs to happen to answer these burning questions
1) Will Joanne convert to Judaism?
Like the freshman season, Nobody Wants This Season 2 also ends with the mystery about Joanne's conversion to Judaism. While the second season also kept the fans in the dark, Joanne came close to connecting with Noah's culture and Jewish heritage. After he breaks up with her in the Season 2 finale, Esther (surprise! surprise!) helps Joanne realize how she has started to connect with the Jewish culture, irrespective of Noah's feelings.
While it was suggested that Joanne was seemingly ready to convert to Judaism, the second season concluded without giving a definitive answer. After two seasons of mystery, Nobody Wants This Season 3 should certainly address this mystery about Joanne's conversion.
2) Will Esther return to Sasha?
A shocking sub-plot that unfolded in Nobody Wants This Season 2 was around Esther and Sasha's marriage, which went through a rough patch. After Bina encourages Sasha to convince Esther to have another child, she has a complete breakdown. The possibility of another child made her realize that she is not ready to perform the duties of a mother again.
After wrestling with this dilemma, Esther finally asked for space and a break from her marriage to Sasha during Morgan's engagement party. While Sasha assured his wife that he will be waiting for her, Nobody Wants This Season 3 should answer whether Esther will return to Sasha or choose her freedom.
3) What is in store for Morgan after her failed romance?
Another subplot and beloved supporting character who had her shining moment in Nobody Wants This Season 2 was Joanne's sister, Morgan. While Morgan eventually found her fairytale romance with her therapist Dr. Andy, it did not end well. After realizing the shortcomings of her relationship, she broke up with Andy at their engagement party.
Morgan had a failed romance in the sophomore season, but Nobody Wants This Season 3 can certainly redeem her character. Since she realized that she had rushed into a relationship after seeing her sister's healthy relationship, her character might undergo a positive development in the next chapter.
4) Will Noah find a befitting place as a rabbi?
The recent outing was especially hard for Noah, who got passed over for the head rabbi position at his Temple Chai, following which he quit the temple. However, he was immediately offered another position at Temple Ahava but it was not a befitting place for him as a rabbi.
Noah felt out of place at Temple Ahava, which was quite liberal and followed a different sect of Judaism than his conservative Temple Chai. With this major roadblock in his career, Nobody Wants This Season 3 needs to answer whether Noah will find a befitting place as a rabbi.
5) Will Joanne find acceptance in Noah's family?
While Noah's mother was suspiciously absent from the majority of the second season, she has not yet become Team Joanne. Noah's agnostic girlfriend managed to befriend his sister-in-law Esther but she still has a long way to go with Bina.
The big question for Nobody Wants This Season 3 remains whether Joanne will find acceptance in Noah's family. Considering Morgan's surprising friendship with Bina and Joanne's 'aha' moment in the Season 2 finale, things might take a positive turn for the couple in the next chapter.
