The Sheridanverse is soon growing bigger with the addition of NOLA King, a spin-off of Paramount+’s hit crime drama, Tulsa King. After getting Sylvester Stallone on board for the original series, the makers have signed another Hollywood legend for the spin-off, as Samuel L. Jackson is going to play the lead.

The show marks Taylor Sheridan’s first spin-off outside the Yellowstone universe. The writer-director, who has several successful shows on Paramount+, including Mayor of Kingstown, 1923, and Lioness, will serve as an executive producer on the new show.

It is being written by Dave Erickson, who currently serves as the showrunner of Tulsa King. If you are excited to see Samuel L. Jackson’s foray into the Sheridanverse, here are all the details you need about the series.

What is NOLA King about?

Like Tulsa King, NOLA King is also going to focus on a criminal lord. The lead is named Russell Lee Washington, who operates in New Orleans. The character will be introduced in Tulsa King Season 3 and is expected to get into a tussle with Sylvester Stallone’s Dwight “The General” Manfredi.

Following his appearance in the original series, Russell will be leading his spin-off. The rest of the plot details have not been revealed yet. Samuel L. Jackson will reportedly shoot for his Tulsa King episodes in July 2025.

When will NOLA King premiere?

Paramount+ has not yet announced the release date of the crime drama. However, as per a report by Deadline, the show is likely to begin production in February 2026.

Considering that the filming and post-production can take around 10 months to over a year, the show might premiere on Paramount+ by the end of 2026 or the beginning of 2027.
