Big Brother Season 27 host Julie Chen Moonves appeared for her latest interview with Entertainment Weekly on August 29, 2025. Every week, the CBS show host shares her views on recent events from the house and how events unfolded further.
Julie Chen Moonves talked about Ashley and Katherine's conversation about voting, Ava listening to that conversation from the bunk bed, and Vince's various apologies to fellow housemates.
When asked about Vince and how he keeps getting emotional with housemates over every other thing, the Big Brother host shared her opinion. She mentioned Vince seemed "non-threatening and weak."
"I think because he seems so non-threatening and weak. He does a good job of minimizing of himself to others and making himself seem sheepish and remorseful. He also is very approachable and comes across very affable," she said.
Big Brother Season 27: Show host Julie Chen Moonves shares her insights on the latest events from the CBS show
In her August 29, 2025, interview, Julie reflected on various recent events. One of them was a voting conversation between Katherine and Ashley. Fans must remember that, followed by another conversation between Lauren and Ashley.
They talked about the voting, nominations, elimination, and more. They were unaware that Ava was in one of the upper bunk beds. At the time, she was not asleep. Hence, she listened to those conversations. Fellow housemates didn't know that she was there in the bunk bed.
Referring to that, the Big Brother host said that the bunk bed room had turned out to be the "perfect place."
"That bunk bed room has proven to be not only fun to stay in, but the perfect place to make your Housemates feel a little too comfortable! It’s crazy to me. It’s like forgetting to whisper when you’re telling a big secret!" said Julie Chen Moonves.
Further in the interview, Julie faced a question related to Vince and his frequent apologies. The question was how, whenever anyone gets upset with him, he would get emotional and apologize for things he had done. The most recent apology was to Keanu.
Big Brother host Julie said that it might be because Vince doesn't come off as a "threatening" housemate, but as a "weak" one.
Also, he tries and comes off as "very approachable" to fellow housemates. Those might be the reasons why his continuous apologies have been working with almost all the housemates.
While talking about Ava and her gameplay, Julie noted that housemates should be "careful" about her. She mentioned Rachel and Ava and talked about who could potentially win the show.
"I can see her getting very far, and then if it's her versus someone like Rachel, Ava has zero enemies, and right now the same number of wins as Rachel. She could win."
The Big Brother host also noted former housemate Angela's arrival the next week and that she was excited to have her back on the show.
CBS airs the newest Big Brother Season 27 episodes every Sunday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
