A true Jedi Warrior, Obi-Wan Kenobi is skillful, wise, and even lighthearted. Obi-Wan is one of the more loved Star Wars characters, who has time and again shown his loyalty to the Jedi order. He has given the fans many memorable moments that have become iconic in the Star Wars universe. Obi-Wan Kenobi is played by Alec Guinness in the prequel movies, and Ewan McGregor in the sequel trilogy and the Disney+ series.

Obi-Wan’s journey as Qui-Gon Jinn’s (played by Liam Neeson) Padawan to becoming a Jedi Master for Anakin Skywalker (played by Hayden Christensen) and later Luke Skywalker (played by Mark Hamill) is filled with remarkable moments that make him a force to be reckoned with. Even at the end, he chooses to stay true to his Jedi roots as he makes the ultimate sacrifice during the duel with Darth Vader (voiced by James Earl Jones).

5) The last duel between the master and apprentice

When Darth Vader and Obi-Wan meet in Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope, the Empire has completely taken over the galaxy, with the Jedi order destroyed and the remaining few in hiding. The duel between the two is important in many ways, mainly because Luke Skywalker, who was being mentored by Obi-Wan, witnesses the encounter.

Obi-Wan, who did not want Darth Vader to learn of his relationship with Luke, sacrifices himself. After he is struck down by Darth Vader, Obi-Wan becomes a Force spirit. The superior Jedi technique enables the spirit of the individual to become one with the force. Obi-Wan will continue to guide Luke to use the Force and even seek out Yoda to continue his Jedi training.

4) Taking on the evil General Grievous

The fight between Obi-Wan and General Grievous (played by Matthew Wood) in Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith is a sight to behold. The menacing General Grievous is the cyborg commander of the droid army, who uses multiple lightsabers in his fight.

The scene brings out the superior skills of Obi-Wan. With just one lightsaber, he brings down General Grievous. It also shows that Obi-Wan enjoys a good fight and doesn’t let anyone intimidate him. He would use spectacular swings and choreographic movements to fight Grievous and his many droids.

3) Fights Darth Vader for the first time

The Disney+ series Obi-Wan Kenobi gives us an in-dept look into the life of the once great Jedi Master, who now lives in hiding in Tatooine. He is on the mission to bring back young Leia Organa (played by Vivien Lyra Blair) on Bail Organa's (played by Jimmy Smits) request. Obi-Wan had assumed that Anakin had died and when he learns that his former apprentice is very much alive and is now Darth Vader, he is shocked. But he knows that meeting him is inevitable.

When Darth Vader and the Empire’s inquisitors come to the planet to find Obi-Wan, the two have a deadly face-off. The fight between the two is emotionally charged as the viewers, along with Obi-Wan, realize that Darth Vader is much stronger now. Obi-Wan manages to escape from him.

2) Avenging his Jedi Master’s death

When Darth Maul (played by Ray Park) kills Qui Gon Jinn in Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace, we witness the true Jedi warrior in Obi-Wan as he seeks revenge for his Master.

The spectacular fight scene between Obi-Wan and Darth Maul keeps you on the edge and also puts on display the Jedi’s well-honed skills with the lightsaber. As he is dealing with the emotional strain of having lost his master, Obi-Wan strikes Darth Maul, who falls to his death.

1) Death of Anakin Skywalker

The most iconic moment in the Star Wars franchise is the end of Anakin Skywalker and the birth of Darth Vader in Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith. When Obi-Wan learns that his Padawan and friend Anakin has turned to the dark side, the Jedi Master confronts him. He realizes that he cannot change Anakin and the only way to put an end to his evil way is to kill him.

On the fiery planet of Mustafar, Obi-Wan and Anakin get into an epic battle. With lava spewing all around, the clashing of the two warriors is an absolute visual treat. An emotionally driven Obi-Wan makes the painful decision to choose the greater good. With a heavy heart, Obi-Wan leaves Anakin on the planet, almost dead.
