Netflix released the Turkish drama series Old Money (original title: Enfes Bir Akşam) on October 10, 2025.
The plot revolves around a high-stakes confrontation and love affair between two contrasting characters in the upper crust of Istanbul society. The tale revolves around Nihal Baydemir, the last heiress of a decaying, rich shipbuilding dynasty. She is determined to save the family by clearing debts and removing her father from the family estate.
Nihal’s fate is entangled when she encounters Osman Bulut, a daring man of fortune who is the owner of a powerful trading empire and is after her ancestral house.
Nihal’s effort to create a yacht for Osman’s prominent family as a way to regain stability for her family will find her and Osman in the middle of a fierce war of old money versus new money, tradition versus ambition.
The show features a mix of Turkey's film and television industry, with well-known names and the fresh ones. Let's have a close look at the cast and character of Old Money.
Old Money cast: Main characters and who plays them
Engin Akyürek as Osman Bulut
Engin Akyürek plays Osman Bulut, an ambitious entrepreneur who has reached the height of his career after starting from scratch. Osman, the patriarch of the Bulut family, represents the vigour and aspiration of “new money”, the man who made his fortune through grit, planning, and command.
In the saga of Old Money, Osman's life gets mixed with that of Nihal, the last scion of a dying shipbuilding dynasty. Even though Osman’s first target is the acquisition of the Baydemir family’s epoch mansion to further his empire, his interaction with Nihal turns out to be quite intricate and a mix of competition, love, and manipulation.
Aslı Enver as Nihal Baydemir
Nihal Baydemir is played by Aslı Enver. She is the last heir of a rich, old-money family whose economic situation has become difficult. Coming back from France, she wants to take her family out of debt, among which is the protection of their old mansion that would become the major dispute with Osman (Engin Akyürek), who wants to expand his empire and take over the family’s historic house.
Intelligent, tough, and independent, Nihal keeps her sense of duty to her family and her personal desires in perfect equilibrium. In Old Money, she keeps on juggling with business dealings, family pressures, and her changing relationship with Osman.
Dolunay Soysert as Songül Bulut
Dolunay Soysert plays the role of Songül Bulut, who is the matriarch of the Bulut family in the Turkish drama series Old Money. The character is presented as a tough and loving person who has been the primary reason for the family's transformation from poverty to wealth and power. As the mother/guardian figure, Songül is involved in all aspects of the family business and even takes the lead in keeping the three brothers, Osman, Mahir, and Arda, united.
The character of Songül is pivotal to the whole family's relationship and the drama that is taking place, hence giving the plot a more profound emotional aspect and a sense of tradition amid the high conflicts of new money and old legacies.
İsmail Demirci as Mahir Bulut
In the show, İsmail Demirci plays the character Mahir Bulut, the oldest brother in the Bulut family. A major part of Mahir's character is that he is very impulsive, and at the same time, he has such a strong-rooted anger, which comes from childhood trauma. Mahir is one of the three boys who were adopted by Songül, a young teacher who eventually became their mother figure.
Mahir, who has not yet come to terms with his past, constantly deals with his mixed feelings of guilt and anger and is in conflict with the world around him most of the time. He is very passionate, and his protective instincts increase the drama in the series, especially when it concerns his family.
Taro Emir Tekin as Arda Bulut
In the series Old Money, the part of the youngest Bulut brother was played by Taro Emir Tekin as Arda Bulut. Arda is shown as being very tender, dreaming of a better world, but also very short-tempered. He is tackling the demands of the Bulut family and their expectations while trying to find and walk his own path.
Arda is opposite to his two older siblings, Osman and Mahir, revealing a more emotional and contemplative side of the family. Arda’s choices and connections are the reasons for family tensions, power struggles, and personal drama that are a huge part of the plot.
In Netflix's Turkish drama Old Money, the story is amplified by the supporting characters that are interwoven with the plot. Their roles are as follows:

Sedef Avcı is Zeliha Bozdağlı and adds a layer of mystery and complexity to the plot, even though very little is known about her character's specifics.
