What happened with Nihal and Osman in Old Money?

While Osman was a shrewd businessman who wanted to acquire Nihal's familial mansion at any cost, he was smitten with her in their very first meeting. The couple even declared their love for one another and had their first kiss but Nihal realized that Osman had sanctioned her loan to build the yacht.

While this was a selfless action on Osman's part, Nihal saw this as dominating and controlling. When Nihal accuses Osman of manipulating, he finally loses his temper and declares that the Bulut family will acquire their mansion if they fail to deliver the yacht on time. Nihal accepts Osman's loan and starts working on the yacht. The couple was even reunited in Old Money for a brief while and Nihal saw that Osman cared for her.

However, when Nihal overhears Osman booking his favorite room in Taormina, she gets suspicious. She had heard infamous stories about the businessman's casual relationships and flings. Multiple girlfriends had revealed to Nihal that Osman took them on a romantic Taormina getaway and broke up with them. Thinking it's finally her turn now, Nihal distances herself from Osman before he can break her heart first.

Engin confessed his feelings for Nihal in Old Money

Engin, Nihal's best friend, was in love with her for many years. When he realized that Nihal had broken up with Osman, he saw this as an opportunity to sweep in and confess his feelings for her. He first convinced Nihal's father that he was a steady match for his daughter and would give Nihal a stable future.

In the Old Money finale, Engin finally confessed his feelings for Nihal and proposed to her for marriage. While Nihal was still in love with Osman and had learned that the Taormina getaway was for his brother, she considered Engin's proposal. Moreover, Osman had not contacted her after their falling out, which led her to believe that she was just a fling for him. She decided to give Engin a chance and it was hinted that the two would take a vacation to France.

Osman finally got the mansion (at a huge cost) in Old Money

In the final moments of Old Money, Osman was out on a boat to Nihal's mansion to confess his feelings for her. He had finally realized that he loved Nihal, unaware that she had already left for the airport with Engin. On the boat, Osman briefly lost consciousness after banging his head on the side of the boat. During that moment, he finally remembered his mother's face and realized that the little girl waving from the mansion (Nihal) in his childhood was his true love and happiness. All throughout his life, he believed that acquiring that mansion would give him happiness, but it was the girl waving at him.

After much struggle, Osman reached Nihal's mansion, where he was handed the keys by her father. Osman had finally fulfilled his childhood dream of acquiring that seaside mansion, but he realized its futility now. His goal in Old Money had changed and he realized that he had lost the love of his life forever.
