Buckle up, Reacher fans! Alan Ritchson, who plays the titular lead, has revealed that Reacher Season 4 will be based on Lee Child's Gone Tomorrow, the thirteenth novel of the Jack Reacher series.

Since Prime Video's Reacher Season 3 wrapped up on March 27, 2025, fans were excited to know what lies next for the titular lead. In season 3, Reacher was able to take down one of his most dangerous adversaries, Francis Xavier Quinn. He took revenge for his mentee Dominique Kohl's death and killed Xavier with a shotgun. After a brutal face-off, he took down Paulie and was also able to rescue Teresa, the missing informant, with the help of DEA Susan Duffy.

Fans took to Instagram to share their excitement, and most of them were quite thrilled about Lee Child's Gone Tomorrow being adapted for Reacher Season 4. As one of the novel enthusiasts wrote,

Just a day after Alan Ritchson teased a small sneak peek of Reacher Season 4, with the scripts on a subway train, fans were left guessing. With Ritchson's second reveal via Instagram, it was clear that Reacher Season 4 will be based on Lee Child's Gone Tomorrow. Ritchson posted a selfie, with a Gone Tomorrow novel in his hand, and captioned it as:

"The thing about subway cars is you step on one and you never know what’s going to happen. REACHER Season 4 will be based on “Gone Tomorrow” by Lee Child."

Reacher Season 4: Expected release date and plot

Even though there's no official confirmation, Reacher Season 4 is expected to be released by late 2026. As there's no official plot summary for the season, we can rely on its official source, Lee Child's thirteenth novel, Gone Tomorrow. So, what is Gone Tomorrow all about?

Lee Child's Gone Tomorrow was published in April 2009 and was written in the first-person narrative. For those who haven't read it yet, the novel follows Jack Reacher's dangerous adventures in New York City. The plot opens with Reacher traveling on a late-night subway when he spots a woman acting quite strangely.

With years of military instincts, he sensed something was wrong with her. The woman called Susan Mark has some military secrets with her that could cause absolute mayhem if they fall into the wrong hands. Reacher strives hard to save her, and as he begins digging for answers, he unravels a hidden world of corruption, secrets, and betrayal. As he tries to expose the conspiracy, he gets chased by powerful adversaries.
