The live-action series was renewed for a third season even before the Season 2 premiere date was announced. Nevertheless, Season 3 officially began production in November 2025 for the pirate adventure with Luffy and the original Straw Hats crew.The global streamer revealed in a November 25 announcement that the Straw Hats were starting production in Cape Town for One Piece Season 3. The original Straw Hat crew, Monkey D. Luffy, Zoro, Nami, Usopp, and Sanji, have all assembled for the third season. As per the streamer, series regulars Iñaki Godoy, Mackenyu, Emily Rudd, Jacob Romero Gibson, and Taz Skylar are all returning as their characters.Joining them will be Xolo Maridueña as Portgas D. Ace. Ace is a significant character of the manga, being the adopted brother of the protagonist, Luffy.
