Only Murders in the Building releases a character poster for Jay Pfluig's Logan Lerman, details explored

Only Murders in the Building, which was first released on Hulu in 2021, is returning for its fifth season on 9th September 2025. Several actors have joined the cast, and while Logan Lerman was revealed to be part of the new cast back in April 2025, the show has just released a character poster of Logan Lerman as Jay Pfluig.

Season five is set to investigate the death of Lester, the Arconia's doorman, who was found dead in the building's fountain. What seems just a murder will reveal itself to be something more sinister as the trio, Charles, Oliver, and Mabel, once again go on a journey to investigate a murder in the building.

As we get closer to the premiere of Only Murders in the Building season 5, the show released Logan Lerman's character poster as Jay Pfluig on X with the caption,

New player at the table? Jay Pfluig sounds like trouble. #OMITB Season 5 premieres September 9 on @hulu

As the Only Murders in the Building season five trailer tells us, Logan Lerman's character, Jay Pfluig is one of the

''...three of the richest people in the world sniffing around a murder scene.''

That immediately makes him a person of interest. The two other people who are apparently the richest people in the world, who also came sniffing, are Camila White, played by Renée Zellweger, and Bash Steed, played by Christoph Waltz. They are all suspected by Charles, Oliver, and Mabel to be responsible for murder. But they are smart, and as Camila says,

''Oh, you got your hands on a body.''

Jay says,

''Hey, that's a felony, right?''

Followed by Bash saying,

''I'm sure they went to the authorities immediately.''

Guilty or not, these billionaires are smart and are likely involved in some suspicious activity, even if it is not murder.

Other than Logan Lerman, Renée Zellweger, and Christoph Waltz, Jermaine Fowler, Keegan-Michael Key, Beanie Feldstein, Diane West, Bobby Cannavale, and Téa Leoni are joining the cast for Only Murders in the Building season five. The returning cast for season five includes Steve Martin as Charles-Haden Savage, Selena Gomez as Mabel Mora, Martin Short as Oliver Putnam, Michael Cyril Creighton as Howard Morris, Jackie Hoffman as Uma Heller, Teddy Coluca as Lester, Meryl Streep as Loretta Durkin, and Da'Vine Joy Randolph as Detective Donna Williams.

Speaking about Only Murders in the Building season five, John Hoffman, co-creator and executive producer, told The Wrap,

"Season 5 will hit on some very current things going on within New York, specifically very relevant things that are happening in the city right now, in ways that honestly we couldn’t have even predicted,"

He continued,

"We found out certain things, we were hearing whispers about certain things and it’s a little bit more reflective, deeply New York, both historically and the modern New York right now too."
